Will V.P sign a new contract???

Will V.P sign a new contract???

Post by romfordwisp »

What do you reckon, i heard a debate on talksport today with Ray Parlour
(romford legend) saying will Van persie sign a new contract and stay at Arsenal, as Man city are said to be sniffing around. they could offer around £250k a week, could/would he turn that down i'm not sure, if we offer £150k a week would that be enough if city offer £250k, Ray said how much do you need a week but i'm not so sure anyone could turn down £100k more a week. Whatever you think city will win things and im not sure we will as much as them... if he goes i'll be absolutely gutted all this massive money is ruining football and i hate it!

Citeh has more than enough good strikers, I don't believe RvP would sign for a club where he would sit on a bench. He is not Nasri :)

For 200 Grand+ a week,he will be off as soon as he can!!!
Don't delude yourself by expecting anything even approaching loyalty from these self obsessed fuckers!!!
The only things that any of them are loyal to are their agent, and their off-shore bank account!!!
WAKE UP!!!
Even Wenger is now saying he can't compete with money to keep them!!!

I certainly hope he stays, but I don't think he will. Hopes he goes for Madrid instead of City, though.

If he does go it'll be a particularly tough one to swallow (easy kj  ) as we'll only have ourselves to blame.

I think he has a genuine love for Arsenal & whilst he'd probably like to be earning decent money, I don't think the £200k City can offer would be the main deal breaker. I think he wants to win things with Arsenal & would be happy to stay on his current wages if he saw ambition & proper squad investment. Sadly we know that's like trying to get blood from a stone at Arsenal... :(

It'll hurt to see him pull on another team's shirt, because it can be so easily prevented.

He's 28 years old, one of the best strikers in world football, and has won one paltry FA Cup winners medal

If he left I wouldn't blame him, in the same way I didn't blame Cesc.

When you are in that bracket, you see your manager sell your best 2 players and sign never-will-be's like Park, no wonder you think twice before committing your future further

I love the guy but can't see him staying.

He will not go for the money, he seems to want to become a legend like Bergkamp, Henry etc, he will go if the club shows no ambition, he doesn't have City or Madrid DNA, he loves this club but the club needs to love him back.

My gut says he will stay unless someone bids silly money at which I think the club will sell us out and sell him.

He's gonna be 29, he must want to win something big, if he goes I will wish him good luck but it will sting as hes been injury prone over the years so should give something back.

He said after the sunderland game he was buying another house in london but he is committed. not only that, he was a bit of an arsenal fan as a kid and in an interview on youtube when he was about seventeen he says he wants to play for either arsenal or barcelona .

I know you should never trust them but its going to be hard to believe if he does leave.
He has had his own dvd released by the club , and he's captain . I think he realises how much he is loved, I think that will guilt him into staying if he's having those thoughts

The next contract will realistically be his last one, with his injury record he's not likely to be a player that goes on until he's 36 or 37. Therefore we have to accept that whilst Wenger refuses to sign top quality team mates, then Robin is likely to go and with him I don't think it will be about money at all, he'll just want some winners medals. He's not going to get them at Arsenal so we should all prepare ourselves now. Our first choice striker next season will likely be Chamakh or another one hit wonder Frenchman.

I think he'll stay. He hasn't played many games in the last few years. It wasn't his fault but the club stuck by him, I think he'll return the favour

Look do you seriously think he will turn down £250k per week if we offer £150k per week.

Of course he won't , he has 4/ 5 years max to play so needs to make the most of these top earning years.

if it was your son what you advise him to do , and if your answer is stay at Arsenal you are probably aged up to 21

I should hope he's fucking loyal. As the club stuck by him with his awful injury record

My view is he will go not for the money but for the lack of ambition at the club
