1 nil down, away from home and after gifting the opposition possession with 3 misplaced back heels he tries a fourth!! Brain cells at a premium with that lad.

I think it's just frustration mate. We were not set up to play a ball in behind their defence. Walcott didn't make the runs either. We were so flat and clueless in midfield. That is where we miss Fabregas. Arteta, Song, Ramsay are all pretty much the same type of player.

Wenger - get the cheque book out!

Hard to be too critical on the 11 that started that game today. Considering we had to play four centre halves across the back line again, and who we were playing, I thought they coped pretty well. I'm delighted that Koscielny carries on proving me wrong, and TV5 is the real deal; a proper old school defender but one with a potent left foot and someone whose attitude stands out a mile

Mikel Arteta showed me again, exactly what we've missed these past few years i.e. a mature, establishd PL midfielder, calm under pressure, sensible in possession. My Gooner MOM today - thought he was outstanding and hopefully those tongue-in-cheek comparisons to Denilson, made in certain quarters, are banished forever.

My despair sets in when I see the subs board light up on the touchline. Yes, Walcott had a poor game today and yes RvP needed a partner for those final 20 minutes....but when I see the lazy Russian and the Camel trot again for another insipid stroll around, my heart sinks.

When I hear people's criticism of Diaby on here, I hear the same things time and time again. Wasteful, lazy, braindead, gives it away cheaply, doesn't care etc - well fuck me if those same people don't tick all the same boxes when they watch Arshavin then they must have dirt in their eyes. A lazier, more braindead, wasteful, couldn't-give-a-shit, overpaid, underachieving arsehole, I have yet to witness.

I know people don't want to go overboard on the Ox - fair enough - but the kid has heart, a fearless attitude and actually tries to make things happen. Surely that's worth taking a chance on in the final 20 minutes?

As for the second striker situation - hardly rocket science and words uttered times many....but if the Camel and "super quality" Park really are the height of the club's ambition to get back into the top 4 then glorious failure and RvP leaving the club are inevitables

Not a bad performance by any means and some young lads and experienced hands blending together well. We don't need to rip up the squad but a £25m+ striker simply has to be recruited

So would you be one of those people who boos the team after a loss like this?

People are "proud" because they have some perspective on the defeat. Some players didn't play well but others did - your mate Arteta had a great game in my opinion.

Not always on the same length kiwomya but spot on here. The guy was fucking outstanding today and if anyone on here suggests otherwise then I can only presume they are too proud to change their opinions on anything despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary

Or are people proud cos they realise that we are now a poor team who are just happy not to get our arse handed to us like it was the last time we played in manchester ? Is this level of expectation now acceptable to us Gooners or should we demand more ?
I understand your comments but the problem, in my opinion at least, is that too many fans are now satisfied to see a team and club with no ambition to be anything more than they are :( :(

According to Twitter, journalists on our train back to London say Song is limping badly getting on to the train. Wenger has also denied any fan contact on the platform and on the train. Sounds like fort knox for anyone trying to get into the player's carriage.

What Cesc wasnt an established PL midfielder?

Yes Arteta is calm and sensible. But what he lacks is a killer through ball.He is always looking for the easy option.I want him to look up and play 40 yard passes once in a while.Like dare i say Cesc

He's banned on Wednesday now anyway.

I'm sure he'll be back once the suspension is over. :barscarf:

Bottom line I don't think we could cope with their swift, precise attacking play.
BUT it was glaringly obvious that we don't have a match winner off the bench, don't have a world class second striker to suport RVP and don't have an attacking world class midfielder who can make a killer pass or have the skill to take on a couple of defenders to create an opening.
THAT's what is missing!! And it ain't gonna change !!
:x
