Villa Away 21/12/11 Match Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

we're doing well and we weren't that terrible against city.

i can see us putting a few past villa, specially if VP is inspired.

3-1 to the arsenal :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Just wait and see, our midfield will get run over. I agree though that we were worth a point yesterday.
Mc leish will put one over Wenger again in this one though.

i was laughing about song's "presence" in midfield.

i agree that he has improved, but i still think he should be nowhere near the arsenal's starting XI

I know you were, and I think you are wrong, and you will see just how much weaker we are without him on wed night.
I think that after RVP he has been our best player this season thus far.

Coquellin or Frimpon will do their job in there. Villa's midfield is hardly brimming with physicality.

Of the many great Abou moments that one is up there amongst the best. I urge anyone who thinks the guy is "useless, braindead etc" to watch that goal from start to finish and tell me who else in our midfield would be capable of producing that?

There's only a handful of players in world football that could produce a goal like that, and yet most people want him out of the club

Abou loves scoring against the Villa....shame he'll be missing out again

One good goal does not a career make. Have you ever seen any of his other games?

Silly question my man.....of course I have. Watching the great Abou run the show in important games has been one of the few Gooner pleasures in recent times.

I've watched him stomp all over Fenerbahce, rip up Derby, produce a piece of sublime quality on the last day of last season at the Cottage, drag us back into a CL game in Liege where we were down and out after 20 minutes......there's many great Abou moments to feast over :barscarf:

And that is why Diaby is an enigma wrapped up in a dickhead.

Flashes that make you think maybe, just maybe then next game he shows you why he is the biggest waste of space in our squad which is saying something when there's Denilshit and Bender to contend with.

although the above scoreline all depends on the wanky ref we got, Jon Moss (Sian Massey is his assistant, who is pretty decent with the flag)

Moss is a red card fanatic and a bit of a clown it must be said

Will be surprised if there isn't some sort of controversary
