As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Because most of our fans have no fucking back bone.
They weren't even brave enough to hold up an anti Wenger banner but yet they want to have a go at Celtic fans who want to express their gripe against UEFA.
Sebb Blatter will be glad to know he's got no enemies on this site.
You guys should start a thread praising the 6% price increase at the grove or better still how about a thread looking forward to the world cup in Qatar
Celtic were fined because some supporters were chanting Pro IRA songs. I think UEFA has every right to fine them and I don't see what your argument is?
We are the Arsenal, we'll sing what we want !
Free speech is a right not a privilege
They can sing what they fucking like.
They sing songs in favour of terrorists, i don't know where your going with this

I think you'll find that IRA songs are anti British. So personally I would be offended if pro IRA songs were sung. And I would be surprised if they were sung at an Arsenal game, what with it being an English club and everything.

What the fuck are you on about?
Who ever suggested that Irish republican songs would be sung at Arsenal
Are you on a wind up, or just seriously confused?

Is it OK to sing pro terrorist songs at any football stadium?
Deflecting tactics eh? You were bigging up Celtic supporters for singing pro IRA songs. Just letting you know that those songs wouldn't be welcome at the Emirates mate - alright?
One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
but in saying that, I don't want to get into a political debate because the point is about free speech and not a political point of view.
Rangers sing anti Irish songs, even songs taunting us about the famine, but I would never suggest Rangers should stop singing those songs because its about free speech.

I guess you think it's ok for racists to make monkey noises at Black players then because it's their right to freedom of speech?
This is exactly what UEFA are attempting to stamp out; sectarianism, racism etc, yet you continue to perpetuate with your 'Chelsea and Rangers: the forces of whatever' rubbish.
How can you get into a political debate - you support an English team?!!

Doesnt matter if goes against free speech or not the songs have no place at a football game end of story. Both clubs are as bad as each other, both vile pathetic excsues for football clubs that have no right to represent Scotland or Britain in Europe.

so on the basis of your argument cork, you feel for example its ok for spurs and united fans to sing there disgusting chants about arsene wenger because its free speech ?
One thing about Celtic fans or sympathisers that always posses me off is that any time you call them on their disgusting songs in favour of a bunch of cowardly murdering bastards, they respond with "but rangers sing...". That is completely and utterly besides the point. Both clubs (or elements of both clubs) are utter scum, the fact that one is just as bad as the other isn't a defence. UEFA are absolutely right to try and stamp out sectarianism, it isn't a freedom of speech issue. It's equally pathetic that a lot of Celtic and rangers fans that sing this shite are actually Scottish and have nothing more than incredibly tenuous links to Ireland, if that, and understand fuck all about it. Both clubs are a disgrace- chanting about the IRA and UVF/ famines etc is completely unhelpful at a time when Britain and Ireland are trying to improve relations and move forward sensibly and peacefully in an attempt to prevent further loss of life on both sides which does nothing to solve differences and instead succeeds only in causing untold hurt to families on both sides of the divide. In short a fair number of Rangers and Celtic fans need to fucking grow up and stop glorifying terrorism and or loss of life, set of stupid kids the pair of them. And no, you can't come and play in England, you're both a fucking disgrace to football.

As much as its ok for me to sing about Harry's old dear being on the game.
If I want to be free to say or sing what I want, then the same goes for others, even those who offend me.

Completely agree.
My only sympathy with Celtic lies on the fact that the majority of their fans seem cool - whenever they're in London, they want to get pissed and have a good time. Rangers fans seem to want to get pissed and get in a ruck. I appreciate both clubs have some utter c**ts in their fanbase, they seem more prevalent amongst Gers.
The whole sectarianism from both sides is an utter disgrace.
I don't think you can really liken calling Harry's mother a whore to singing anti British songs can you? Big difference isn't there? One song is tongue in cheek and the other champions the cause of terrorism whose 'brave' soldiers plant bombs amongst innocent British citizens.
I can't understand anyone supporting a British team be it Celtic, Rangers or Arsenal wanting to sing anti British songs, would you tolerate pro Al Quaeda songs being sung at the Emirates? No, I didn't think so.
