FRIMPONG?? Who is this little upstart? Reading his Twitter, you'd think he was ballon d'Or.

I can't wait for Wayne Bridge to come in myself....

I'm guessing you're joking about Grimandi/Wiltord/Kanu/Jeffers/Bridge right?

Largely fair points on Ramsey, Gervinho and Frimpong, Mertesacker and Arteta are good players though. We'd be mid-table without the "panic buys" you're slagging off.

Frimpong wasnt that bad what happened to supporting our young players ffs.

Ramsey was and has been poor all season, he should be benched he looks tired, we need to switch it up. There is no need to abuse him though, save that for players that really require it Denilson etc.

Also had another BLATANT penalty turned down by a buffoon of a referee.

Overall a good win but poor performance, yet again drop off form players and give Chamberlain, Coquelin Frimpong and Benayoun a go in certain matches because THEY ARE going to perform if we use them right.

Yet again off form Chamakh and Arshavin on the bench, while Park Chu Young doesnt appear.

Will we ever see this mysterious guy kick a ball? Either hes Ali Dae in disguise in training or was only bought for marketing purposes. Or Wenger is just being a mug as usual, why he was bought along with Chamberlain if we wont play them is just another of the many Wenger mistakes that are costing us.

Franny Jeffers is better than Park. Fact.

Wiltord is ten times the player Chamakh is and more.

Grimandi was a better player than Alex Song, because he was more disciplined. That is my opinion.

Mertesacker is a giant Liability. He's horrendous. Look at his height yet he is dominated in the air by the likes of Saha FFS. He is not good enough.

Arteta is a good player.....for Everton! (Ok was a bit harsh on him, he is better than the rest but still not an Arsenal player for me.)

I was however, being dead serious on Wayne Bridge. I would love to see him sign, especially as Mancini is publicly begging someone to sign him, so Bridge can stop getting bored at golf on Saturday afternoons!!!

However....

I am sick and fucking tired of pregnant forehead c**** GERVINHO.
What an absolute piece of shit he truly is. £11 milion of dog shit. Useless, I won't tire of saying it but he is the Ivorian Tony Daley. No vision, no brains, no footballing intelligence and no clinical finishing. He is fucking shit.
If people have a go at Walcott for running very fast and nothing else then what does this overpaid c*** do? He does not 'need time' he is shit.

He does not have the intelligence. When Pires first struggled in England you could tell he had intelligence and knew how to give it, he just needed to adapt to the pace.

Next up, another of the shower of shit panic buys from the summer: Per Mertesacker. I thought that John Terry goal he was guilty for at Chelski was a joke. But then I saw the goal he fucked up on at Norwich. If that was bad enough, what about tonight? Mertesacker more and more with each passing match looks like the German Phil Senderos. No pace, no positioning. I actually called this when we signed him: the reason Mertesacker is decent for Germany is because he has a tactical manager who gives him the protection of Torsten Frings.

At Arsenal, he has brainless morons like Alex Thong.

Oh and what about Aaron Ramsey? After his flicks and tricks galore at Citeh, he thought he would treat us to another exhibition of how to perform like a lamb shawarma stuffed with vomit dressing. Pathetic, don't care about his age it isn't acceptable.

And how about the amazing Arteta? The myth? Pfffft.

This Villa team is abysmal and Arsenal scraped and struggled to get anything out of them. That team out there tonight would have been destroyed by Arsenal's Carling Cup team of 2002. You put a team with the likes of Grimandi, Wiltord, Kanu, and even Franny fucking Jeffers then they'd be better than some of the clowns I am seeing in an Arsenal kit.

FRIMPONG?? Who is this little upstart? Reading his Twitter, you'd think he was ballon d'Or. Why was a child playing at right-back tonight? Why? And getting skinned and destroyed? A club with over £80 million in hoarded profits is playing a child midfielder at right-back. It's fucking ridiculous.
And the reason he was playing here?

Why, because our reserve right back from League1/Conference was injured.

This Arsenal team is unbelievably mediocre, it lacks balance all over the place and has horrible players in various positions earning fat wages. It's a joke. January can't come soon enough.

I can't wait for Wayne Bridge to come in myself....
:banghead:
Most of that is over the top nonsense, especially regarding Coquelin. Skinned and destroyed? Once maybe, I think he had a very good performance. Hes not a child hes a young player, hes probably older than Wilshere ffs.

Over the top bollocks from you Baba.

Give it a rest.

They gave so much against City they were bound to be slightly lethargic tonight.

We needed the 3 points more than a good performance today, and guess what we got them.

Some times you have to grind wins out at tough away grounds. Even the Invincibles had their fair share of insipid performances.

Your criticism of Mertesacker, Arteta and particularly Coquelin (who did a solid job out of position) is beyond ridiculous. "Child midfielder" - What you on about? Expect better from you mate.

I agree we can be way too harsh on our players at times especially the young ones. The likes of Frimpong, Coquelin and Jenko all care and they go out and give their all. They will make mistakes due to inexperience but if we're gonna insult them to high heaven every time they do we might as well be Spurs fans ffs.

Frings is not any longer in the german national squad, he is not even playing in germany any longer...he plays in the us opera soccer world

Well done with the win, sack the three points and move on.

Best wishes,
Thomas

P.S.: BVB had a great cup game yesterday against the top team from the second division, over 90 minutes (was extra time, so 120 minutes) one men down and then they have won it in penalties 5:4

so let me get this right
the Albrighton goal, from a short Vermaelen pass, was the fault of Mertesacker AND Song who didn't play

Argue on different points if you like please dont insult me with this embarassing "they were knackered after the weekend" argument  These guys are being asked to play a game every 3 days and they are tired ? FFS that is an insult to fans who make major sacrifices to travel all over the country to see them and who work far harder and longer hours for less money than these prima donna wankers   The reason why they were poor again tonight was basically they are a very average team being dragged down by some very average players and by an attitude (by some) that they are too good to have to work very hard to win a game

Can I also say in response to somebody's comment on the previous thread about how much we missed song, that the fact that ping pong is so average doesnt make song a good enough player - song typifies this team (average) and I have long since argued that the DM position is one of the weakest in this team and should be 2nd only to centre forward as the position that most needs adressing in the transfer market

Got home too late to post thoughts last night. In brief; crap performance but it's always funny to nick 3pts when playing badly

As we saw against City, a good performance may often get you nothing whilst a crap one can sometimes get you a win. It's a funny old game.

That said, we do look to be running on empty. Van Persie looks pretty tired, how long can he carry this team on his own? Ramsey & Frimpong poor & wasteful in possession. Walcott anonymous aside for about 5/10 mins. Great impact from Yossi, he's always working & makes things happen. Again, where's Ox though?!

Long gone is the slick, free-scoring Arsenal of old. Our passing was all over the place, kinda like a pinball machine, very hit & hope. We hardly even tested their keeper.

Still, a win's a win.

a few things:

1) we won last night because of our new signings in August
Mertesacker, Arteta and Benayoun all contributed last night

2) RVP should be rested against Wolves and told to forget about this stupid Alan Shearer record

3) Ramsey should be rested against Wolves. Play Arshavin or Rosicky instead

4) For those wanting to rush the OX into action, Frimpong and Coquelin showed last night it is much tougher at this level. The substitutes Wenger made last night were always going to be more effective than bringing this teenager on

5) where was Miquel last night?

Can I just remind everyone that we are the inform side in the league. How the hell can anyone complain about that?

Coquelin is turning into a blinding player, solid performance despite being out of position.

Baba's criticism of Arteta is becoming slightly tiresome. The guy has been great since coming in. With Gerv, I'll give him a year. Pires was fuckign shocking when he first came and look how that turned out. Not saying he'll be the new Bobby, but too early for me to judge.

Anyway great 3 points. Hopefully a draw tomorrow and we'll be in a very healthy position to challenge the scum and the other scum.

Shit game but a win is a win!

Cracking away support as per usual which makes it all the worth while going to Villa on a cold Wednesday night!

Have to say Rosicky when he came on played really well, has got a lot of stick lately and most of it probably deserved but done more in the 15 or so minutes he was on than Frimpong done all game, reminded me a bit of the player we bought and makes it all the more a shame that he has never really produced bar the 2007-2008 season.

Merry Xmas Gooners!!!
