Reason for Optimism

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

still, we've played 17 out of 38 games and we've been to manchester twice, the lane and the bridge, and our defence is looking pretty solid with four centre backs and we're even scoring goals from corners - so we will have a big say in the title race still.

The spuds are going down, Harry is already moaning that van der fart is out for next two games, and newcastle and liverpool are done.

so yeah, we're not the team of 98 or 02 or 04, but much to look forward to.

Merry Christmas lads :barscarf:
That fucking melted cheese face tosser claims this before every single fucking game, and the chubby Peter Andre wannabe always recovers in time. Monkey Boy made a miraculous recovery too for the Chelsea game, plus Barndoor.

I bet its only the slitty eyebrow, invisble handbag wearer Lennon thats out for any period of time, as well as old Ledlegs.

If its a season of goodwill then it doesn't extend to these fuckers. One of my great hopes for 2012 - that the media loving, twitching 'wheeler-dealer' is finally brought to justice. Hope the tax authorities slamdunk the tosser in January

If the club decides in its collective wisdom that the "dizzying" prices in January (officially defined in the Arsenal dictionary as anyone over €15m) are to be ignored then personally I'll be sick to the back teeth hearing the usual shit tripped out in late April about how "close" we were, "unlucky with injuries" etc

I live in hope that the last time we were going into the Xmas period in danger in the top 4 we spent a bit of cash on Arshavin - which crazy as it sounds these days was the catalyst needed for a good kick-up the arse and the player that was needed at the time to get us all going again.

If we signed Goetze & a partner for RvP I would indeed start to feel optimistic again, especially if Jack, Sagna and Santos all recover fitness and form. But I still shudder every time RvP goes down under a challenge or someone whacks into Chesney......and that's the flip side. In two of the really vital positions are options are far too limited for a club of our stature.

So you are now beginning to think that it is a possibility ? The great cynic that is steve o is now changing his whole beliefs system

I think I've said enough about my views on us signing Goetze on Sammy's thread. About as much chance as there is finding rocking horse shit

Just saying, that at any normal club with £80m in free cash and on the edge of a place in Europe, might be sensible enough to invest it. Will we do it? Will we fuck - Henry on loan, Zamora for Chamakh, and new signings Sagna, Wilshere and Ryo
