Spot on, watch all those above mentioned strengthen where necessary whilst Wenger does fuck all as usual, or even if he does spend it will no doubt be some shit on the cheap, fucking wankerSteveO 35 wrote:Yep, lets stand back and admire what we do in this window compared to our rivals.
Chelsea - identified CB position as a weakness. In talks with Cahill - and before anyone bangs on about 'resources' the fee is allegedly down to £7 million now and his wages will hardly be earth shattering at Bolton
Man U - will almost certainly sign a top class midfielder
Liverpool & Spurs have managers that are already on record as saying they will strengthen and have owners with a track record of backing their managers with investment
We on the other hand will dither about signing ex-Gooner veterans on loan, a stop gap left back and that will be that.
Oh sorry Sammy I forgot, Goetze's coming too
Henry Coming Back???

Class Is Permanent - Sadly fitness and pace are not. I still think TH14 finally went along with the move to the barcawhores is because he was about to get crucified in the press over the state of his marriage etc...well let's be fair we all know the brit press love to vilify and crucify any (foreign) player - They're bad enough with british players.
As I say Class IS Permanent - and TH14 has it in spades...first touch, vision, positioning, ability to read a game, pick a pass etc - But just a few months ago when he was visiting Arsenal he did an interview and when asked if he would ever return - he said who knows what the future holds, you can never tell, maybe in some capacity other than a player - as the pace of the prem would be too quick for me now.....
- also would he upset the rhythm we now have going for us as a team, and would the younger, inexperienced players be afraid Not to pass to him and do things his way
I love the guy - he is a True Legend and my 2nd favourite Arsenal player of all time, but I see this as wenger doing another quick and cheap fix...Rather than go out and BUY a young, 1st class striker
... and Thierry being a genuine Bonafide Gooner - who of us would say no in his position to pull on the old Red & white again

Just when I think Wenger cannot become any more of a penny-piniching unambitious cunty-chopps, he considers bringing Henry back. It's hilarious. What was that extra 6.5% for then? Remember? Gazidis said it was to compete in an ever increasing transfer market. That'd be the same transfer market that sees us make a profit last summer, and another operating cash reserve of over £90 million.
This Henry thing is a fucking joke, and the only bigger joke are the ridiculous fans who think this is a good idea. It is honestly one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. It is the kind of move I would expect from a Hull, a Blackpool or a Swansea. Not even Stoke would have Henry now. There is a reason he is playing in the US. He is finished. Not even loaded PSG who are throwing money at anything would take him back!!!
Whatever happened to Arsene Wenger, the great promoter of youth? Would signing Henry not 'kill' Oxfam Chambermaid? Hmmm? It is just stop-gap, after stop-gap, after stop-gap.
Park = Stop-crap.
Chamakh = Not good enough to be a stop-gap
Adding Henry to that list, ask yourself how much money Wenger would have continued to waste on wages for all this mixture of rubbish and over the hill players. FFS Jens Lehmann was in RETIREMENT and we brought him out to keep goal. What an embarrassment, going around with a begging bowl like a bunch of cheapskates when we are loaded. It shows a fundamental lack of class from the club and manager and a total lack of ambition. Sol Campbell who was sent to a League 2 side, was also brought back. Hilarious. Why not go one further and bring back more of the Invincibles eh? How about re-signing Keown, retired Lauren and perhaps Kaba Diawara can be brought back too!
Why do Real Madrid not re-sign Raul then?
Why do the Spuds even not go out and re-sign Robbie Keane? He is also doing well in the US? That's the same thing!
Would Fergie fancy re-signing Dwight Yorke or Andy Cole if offered?
What I do not get, is that Arsenal are completely and absolutely flush with cash. I'd understand if we were broke, but this is now outrageous. What a Joke. Just as with the whole Wayne Bridge suggestion, there are so many better players that could be signed. Llorente for one. Stefan Jovetic of Fiorentina. If you want a loan signing of someone older and experienced, how about Diego Milito of Inter, who is still considered good enough to be in the squad of a big league but doesn't always start? There are a barrel of better and younger players out there. Henry is a joke suggestion.
I am seriously completely sickened by what Wenger has turned this into. It's like an Orwellian clusterfuck whereby you now have fans who on the one hand are happy to pay up to £1300 a season ticket - and then on the other, they are championing the signings of 'players' like Bobby Zamora (Spuds reject), Yossi Benayoun (Chelski reject), Thierry Henry (busted flush, main career over) and some (a minority I agree here) have even mentioned Wayne Bridge as a credible alternative.
That makes us sound like a desperate Championship level club scraping to stay in the PL whilst getting the dregs that the big clubs don't want. Hilarious.
If Henry comes back, he will deliver the root sum of fuck all. Saying that 'he's better than Chamakh' is no sort of defence. Because even a donkey that has been the victim of a gang-rape is a better alternative than Park or Chamakh!!!

Llorente would not be cup-tied for the CL.DarylAFC wrote:I criticise Wenger as much as anybody but he cant win with some can he?
If he goes out and buys a top european striker, you'll be saying "he's wasted money on a cup-tied player! what a useless git"
If he buys a quality but little-known european or african player you'll say "Why are we buying unproven talent? what a useless git"
If he buys a great striker from a lower club in England you'll say "If he's not good enough for (Enter team name) then why is he good enough for us? We need a big european name thats what we need! what a useless git"
So what does he do? Get a stop-gap until the end of the season when he could (not COULD, I doubt he will) go and buy a world-class player and not worry about any of the issues. I'd rather we get Henry as a stop-gap than play Park.
Signing CL cup-tied players would also not be an issue because Arsenal have about as much chance of winning the CL as I have of finding Nemo in my turkey tomorrow. A striker alone won't get Arsenal a shot at the CL.
A new centre-back, left-back, defensive midfielder, creative mid and most of all MANAGER would get Arsenal there.
So no. No one would begrudge Wenger signing a cup-tied CL striker because no Arsenal fan with sanity is eyeing the CL. Milan are almost certain to knock us out as things stand (have you seen the way Arsenal play??!). So if Cavani came along, and we ended up somehow 4th/3rd in the league then no one would give a stuff about cup-tied or not.
Fact.
Can't see why people are bloody moaning!
Everyone has unanimously said he's better than park and chamakh so why not sign him?!
Plus, why would llorente come and play second fiddle to RVP?
With respect, this is the latest oft-repeated trash I am sick of hearing.
'Why would Llorente/Villa/Benzema come and play second fiddle to RVP' etc etc.
What is all this bollocks? What does that mean Arsenal cannot ever again have two quality strikers competing for a place? It also suggests that top players won't come to Arsenal because it's too hard a team to get into! LOL.
This is the club that pays Chamakh, Diaby and Song Galactico wages so Please.
And seriously. You lot ever heard of a 4-4-2? Here's a hint: last time Wenger ever won anything, it was with two strikers up front. You're allowed to play two strikers you know. Fergie does it, Guardiloa plays with three frontmen and Mourinho plays with two attackers every week.
The other obvious point is that RVP is leaivng anyway. So any new striker coming in needs time to adjust to the pace of the PL, and by the time they've adapted, Van Persie will be gone in any case.
I am dumbfounded by the fundamental lack of ambition of some.
'Oh Cavani would play second fiddle so no point trying to sign him'
Yeah I'll tell you what, let's go out and find the next Chamakh or sign Moussa Sow instead shall we? Because it's set in stone that 4-5-1 cannot be changed ever, and because there's so much quality at Arsenal that Llorente would find it hard to ever get a game.
Especially seeing as Van Persie's bones are famous for being made of titanium....

I am in favour of a short term loan deal.
It would only be until April, when he would go back to the USA.
So for three months we get a strong player, with a good eye for a pass and good shot accuracy.
His pace is gone, but he knows the club, knows the league, and could play behind RvP at times.
If RvP was out Henry could be a decent alternative, it is not as if RvP relies on pace.
Wenger was right to bring back Sol, who must have shown in training that he had enough left in the tank.
I trust Wenger on this.
But I would also like Chamakh and Arshavin to be sold, and a striker brought in as well as Henry.

Henry will be resigned in an attempt to boost shirt sales and dwindling ticket sales. They are hoping that many of us stay away fans will be tempted back by the chance to see the legend playing one last ime in an Arsenal shirt.

Why is a short term deal the best option? The best option is if the tight *word censored* Wenger actually spent money on decent players, instaed of doing it on the cheap all the fucking time and signing shitAFCWozza wrote:Were very unfortunate Joel Campbell didnt get his work permit, short term loan deal is the best option, Thierry is the standout option
