Therefore I suggest Steven Fletcher as a possible target. Plays at a club fighting relegation and still manages to get himself in amongst the goals.Proven pedigree at both Burnley and at Wolves as a good PL player so might just add a bit of cutting edge and for once we could take the pressure off RVP.
I sincerely hope that the Self Harmer isn't reading this because it almost sounds like a challenge. I didn't think we could do much worse than Chamakh and then we signed Super Quality. Perhaps the phrase for this window will be adapted to "we already have Super Quality........so we only look to add Platinum Quality".....
Then we'll dig up some fucking no-mark from the depths of Ligue Deux, have the gall to claim he was always our "first target", and wait till next year's Beer Cup for the useless fuckwit to make a 'little boy lost' fleeting appearance before disappearing into the land of the Ghosts of Arsene's past
Its so sad watching likeminded gooners get frustrated at this situation , I just can't fathom how wenger felt last seasons squad was "his best ever".
I hope he sees sense and signs cavani, baines and adam johnson

I hope he sees sense and resigns with the little shred of dignity he has left

Gourcuff is a possibility, a good player, technically gifted and hugely out of favour in France at the moment.
Trouble is he's really gone off the boil this season and hasn't played a lot of football either so wouldn't just be able to come in and do a job.

The trouble is, quite fundamentally, the sources. The likes of Footie Bunker and Caught Offside are about as reliable as a back 4 of Gibbs,Squillachi, Djourou and Jenkinson

Why would a manager, who has a primary excuse for failure of 'some clubs spend too much money, financial doping....blah blah. Blah', go out and spend 20+ million after spending 50 in the summer? It would make Wenger look even more stupid than usual! Hence the only signings you will see next month, are loans, so Wenger the *word censored* can continue with his excuses for failing miserably.
Agree that Henry will be the only sign but i wouldn't think it's impossible for Wenger to bring Bridge, sadly.
We need more good players up front and we won't get them because our manager is preparing his excuses, it's not lack of money, specially when you see managers like Guidolin or Klopp signing on the same £5-£12 range and having better results.

wenger was good on those 'around £10M signings' back when france had the best players in the world. we have to admit, we were a bit lucky that many of the best talents on the planet (vieira, petit, pires, henry) were french and known by our manager.
now that france has as many good players as honduras, we have to endure signings like squilacci and sylvester

I'd prefer a striker who has played in the PL to be honest.
If Wenger wants a reasonably cheap option I'd like him to go for Dembele. He can definitely lead the line on his own and is a real handful. Would suit us and he has bags of pace.
One thing is for sure Wenger won't spend much. And I think this time it will be his downfall

Can't wait to hear the offers that will be flooding in for those three. I just hope Chamakh notches a couple in the Afro cup and some desperate fuckers from France come calling. Perhaps Zenit or 'new money' Anzhi are equally desperate for one of their own?
As for Squillaci - my local need a new CB. They play in the 7th division of the local Sunday league, but if he keeps himself fit they might consider him for a squad role
