Is it Wrong?

Post by Wengerball »

That I look at squads like Fulhams, look at some of the exciting young players they seem to have and believe they could get in our first team? That I wish we could spend some money and take a risk on some exciting talent?

We may have done that with the Ox (thats another thread altogether) but if Arsene really believed in his "youth project" then why has he not shown the ambition to go after the cream of the crop.

Fulham may be a strange example to use but I actually rate some of the players they have brought in and I can see the plan they have. Fat head Jol is not the best manager on the planet but even he has had the common sense to make some good investments into the Fulham squad.

I look at the likes of Dembele and think he would be a cracking partner for RVP- he might not score as many goals as he should but he seems to be prepared to work hard and create for the team. The kid Frei they had looked the part as well.

In the case of Fulham, they have taken our reject Senderos and whilst not turning him into a world beater have made a solid defender out of him. Certainly better than Squiddy who we brought on.

The problem we have is that not only are we not investing enough money, we are not investing it well.

Gervinho at £13m looks decidedly dodgy when you consider the Spuds bought Monkey head for £6m.

It is very worrying to me that I am looking at mid to lower table teams in the league and thinking they could get a number of players into our first team.

Just for once I would love to actually enjoy a transfer window where we could bring in some exciting players.

Is it wrong that I look at other teams and envy some of the talent they have on show?

I reckon Senderos's problem with us was a lack of confidence and concentration, rather than a lack of talent.

Not wrong to think players with some other teams could enhance ours, for example I think Enrique and Tiote would benefit our squad

Mate this is the same Fulham who didn't win a single Prem game till October and until today had won just four games....their team are shite..Dembele was made to look good and they will struggle to put a run together...they have won once on the road and won't win too many....

Comparing Fulham with Arsenal today is like comparing a flat chested woman with a 38 triple x....a non contest

Im struggling to get up for games at the moment as I find watching the Arsenal at the moment stale and rather predictable- theres no player that actually gets a game (yes I am insinuating about the Ox) that really seems to have that bit of flair and skill that gets you excited for games.

I look at some of the other teams in and around us and admire their philosophy and style, even when they work on a budget. I would love to see us play like Swansea or Norwich with their attacking football but I know that at the Emirates all I will see is pass,pass,pass,pass,pass...

Im not saying that they are a brilliant team, its just that I'd like for us to bring in some exciting attacking players and play a better brand of football.

At least they try to accommodate flair in their team and do something different- we just try and stifle it and play the same old formation and the same players every single game. Walcott seems to be undroppable.

Two weeks ago they lost 0-5 at home to Man utd with practically the same line up as tonight.....

We had enough chances for that scoreline in the first half. But our final ball, crossing was a crook of shit.

Hell, after yesterday I think I would rate pretty much any winger or wide player over our 2 starters. Ruiz, Hoilett, Sinclair, Dempsey....fuck, anyone really. Just imagine if RVP had guys like Valencia and Nani delivering crosses to him....or an actual winger like Lennon to actually beat guys in 1 on 1 positions before slotting it to him. He'd have broken Shearer's record before thanksgiving

Dembele, Ruiz & Dempsey are quality footballers and the young lad Frei looks a decent prospect.

Imagine if he had been on the end of some of the Oxs deliveries that we've seen on the rare occasion he has played. I know most on this forum believe that he should at least be getting a place on the bench but after last nights showing from Walnut and Gervinho I would argue he should be starting some of these games.

Lets face it he couldnt be any worse.
