Bendtner; The Leg-end

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Delighted with him mate- good with either foot, pacy, direct, good crosser of a ball, confident, can get into the middle to attack crosses when Larsson is whipping them in from the right, grabbed a couple of goals. Amazed at how good the boy is tbh, looks like he has a genuinely bright future in the game. I see he was getting a bit of stick on twitter for "turning his back" on NI mind but I'd imagine that'll be like water off a ducks back- his choice to make, glad in a way that he's settled it now so he can concentrate on his club football. If he keeps the performances up he could well be off to the euros, I'd rather have him than Duff, Hunt or McGeady on the evidence I've seen thus far tbh

Mc CLean is a catholic lad from Creggan in Derry, sectarianism is still rife among norn iron fans. Mc Clean would be the first player they would turn on when they are getting beat (which is basically every game  )
It has happened to most Catholics who have opted to play for them as far back as Gerry Armstrong and more recently the likes of Anton Rogan and Neil Lennon.
So the decision I'm sure was an easy and indeed the only one for him to make.

Sid,

not normally one to disagree with your posts but how many NI games have you been to recently? None i would imagine.

Some of the loudest cheers at the games are for Paddy McCourt and Niall McGinn both Celtic players.
There are a few mindless idiots who hassle them, as reported in the press but this appears to be Rangers fans in Scotland and it gets linked together.
A lot is being done by the IFA to stamp all of it out and I would say it has improved 100% from Neil Lennon's last game.

I dont blame McClean from choosing the ROI though as we are shite :D

Pedro,
You are right, in fact I have never been to a northern ireland game. I am aware that the IFA have been trying to stamp out sectarianism, I however can only go on what is reported in the press.
I apologise if the sectarian abuse is indeed now, no longer the norm.
You are also quite correct, you are indeed shite.

GREAT NEWS- Nicklas is fit again (he's always fit to be fair but you know what I mean, in a playing games sort of a way not in a "I'm straight but fucking hell, you couldn't really say no could you?" sort of a way). Back in the side and could actually do you a favour today as we go to Chelsea. We'll probably get fucked like but yer knaa, just trying to make the thread seem more exciting than it is

unlikely now

TBF though, he's got one good header on target, got Luiz booked by skinning him and only just put a chance wide, good performance from the boy today and he looks like he can score against these

Fuck- he had a great chance to get us a deserved draw right at the end but it fell on his left foot andit went just past the target, fuck , fuck, fuck, Chelsea really are nowt special, fucking poor they are from front to back. I'd go as far as saying if you cant finish ahead of them, that should be a sacking for Wenger because these are fucking useless

Utter c**t
It was a hard chance- dont mean to start an argument but Van Persie is the only striker of yours I'd fancy to have scored that and he did well the whole game- Chamakh, Park etc would have been much shitter. Wish he'd scored but I actually watched the whole game and he led the line well and was unlucky that he got a hard chance on his left foot right at the end. If you think Chamakh would have done better, you're fucking mental. I'm not saying he's good enough for Arsenal, but he's a good footballer given the right manager and I'm happy with him today- fucking hell, he isnt good enough for Arsenal and he's still your second best striker

With all his "progress" and greatness, how many goals and assists has he had this season with Sunderland Safcftm?

3 goals and it really depnds on how you define assists but probably about 7, for us thats pretty good tbh, hes a million miles off Quinn and Phillips, he's a fuck load better than Stead and Laslandes who we had in the PL. Good footballer, caused them trouble today and we nearly sneaked a point. How would you compare him to Chamakh (who we were linked with and I'm delighted we didnt sign) and Park (who?)
