As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It ain't because they were shit. we finished above them most seasons in the eighties too but it didn't stop Neil getting sacked or Howe walking .
We are The Arsenal ffs!
Ultimately I think their inability to beat the likes of utd, citeh and the chavs, will cost them any chance they have of lifting the title. I can however see them taking second spot, if Utd slip up.
I think if citeh slip up (which I doubt) then utd's and more importantly Fergies expereience will see them up their game and seize the opportunity.
I doubt both will slip up, it is however a very uncomfortable situation for gooners, and for once we should be thankful for citeh's ££millions.
As for ourselves 6th is the best we will finish this season, and tbh I rather finish lower than play in the Europa lge.
This is Wenger's worst ever squad by a long way, and one on which it's final placing depends on avoiding any sort of long term injury to any one of two players, RVP and the Scez. The result of a gross neglect of duty and glaring incompetence by Wenger.

How the worm has turned. A few weeks ago you were certain we would finish above them....now content with looking back at history and realising that we won't.
All the confirmation we need - even WUMs and AKBs know our place now i.e. Thursday night cup

not at all.
I still think it is a big IF
but we do need to get another run going starting on Sunday

The excuse this year will be how we did well considering our shite start to the season. whos fault is that, Arsene?
As far as I'm concerned, finshing bellow Sp*rs should be an automatic sacking, because anyone who cares about the club and the shirt would consider it blasphemy to do so.
Any proud Arsenal-Loving manager would simply resign on his own accord if he believes he has failed the club and couldn't fix the mess he created. Especially, as the failure here is put in perspective with the forward push the scum are making.
In there next 10 games they play us chelsea united city and liverpool, and i beleive all of them except united they have to play away with tricky games against stoke and newcastle at home as well, they may finish above us but there is no way they are winning the league

I don't think we're going to catch them. They've found the consistency that they've always lacked (14 wins in their last 18 league games ). Meanwhile, we're still dropping points all over the show - 5 to Fulham and 2 to Wolves, for example. Nine points with 18 games left is still bridgeable but I have no confidence in this team to go on a winning run. For starters, I think we'll be doing well to get a point at Swansea.
You know what I hope they do go and win the bloody league *shock horror* because at least that way the board and wenger will have to all take long look at themselves as they ponder how they let them lot down the wrong side of the seven sisters; go from being a team light years behind us, to a much leaner outfit with a deeper squad playing more attractive football all in the space of 5 years. It’s a fucking disgrace
The best analogy I can think for what’s happening is to us is Arsenal FC are sat in their shiny Audi (quite a nice looking and powerful car but will never overtake a Ferrari) cruising along in the fast lane and solely focusing on the ferrarris ahead just making sure we keep them in our eyeline and not too far over the horizon. All the while this has been happening, the tottingham souped up chavy lancer evo has burnt straight past us in an undertake that we didn’t see coming as we were so focused on that horizon and weren’t cheking the rear view mirror.
So fuck it, let them overtake us because at least that way wenger (or whatever manager in the driving seat next year) will have to shift up a gear and make dam sure we get back in front of them, and hopefully spend some money on some super unleaded to catch

I can picture Arsene arriving at his local petrol station and telling the cashier
"You already have unleaded...so now you look to add only super unleaded"
In answer to your question...Yes.
The ship well and truly has sailed. We are so inconsistent that to even entertain the idea that we could possibly catch them is naive in the extreme.
No it pains me to say it but we will not catch them. We are average and they have a better squad.
The small crumb of comfort about The Spuds being so far ahead of us is maybe, just maybe our intelligent manager will now realise that we are in a 3 way battle for the 1 remaining CL place and that maybe, just maybe he might open his eyes to the fact that Chamakh and Park are Hackney Marshes standard and we need to...........SPEND SOME FUCKING MONEY

FOYS
Injuries to any clubs 4 best players will fuck them over, of course!!!
They might have a marginally better squad than us this season but even if they dont they are playing as a team which in the past has been our forte. More often than not a team that might have inferior players but work well to a set style and work their bollocks off for eachother and a manager they respect can out do better teams see Copenhagen 1994 and even the 1988-1989 season Liverpool had a great team that season Barnes, Beardsley, Aldridge, Rush up front McMahon, a good keeper, good defence but we did them and im genuinely woried about them winning the league this season.
No disrespect to you bG over in your favella but you dont know what scum fans are like they are the biggest c**ts ive ever known and my life here at work will be hell if they win the league
i didn't mean lose all the four of them to injuries - what i meant is that they have no replacements for any of them, for example, if they lose van der vart, they're fucked. if they lose modric, they're fucked. any of them.
i know the same applies to us, and that's exactly one of the reasons why we're shit (lose rvp and we'll never score a goal anymore) - but i think they don't have enough to compete with either of the manchester teams, so i'm not worried about them winning the league - they simply won't.
and thankfully there are no scum supporters in brazil i mean there are a few, but i never met any of them - i did meet some of the scum in london, but i can't really have a say as it's hard to like someone when you expect them to be huge *word censored*

I think you are wrong there BG, not only do they have cover, but they have decent cover in all these positions. Coupled with Redknapp's better tactical nous and the fact that they play as a team with the bit between their teeth, there is not a fucking cat in hell's chance we will finish above them.

United didn't do too well in the head to heads between the top 4 last year (if I remember) yet they went on to win the league, fact is there are 18 games left, a lot can still happen, they could lose 3 out of the next 6 (City, Liverpool and United) and they will be back to thinking about finishing 4th.
One thing that makes me more uncomfortable than anything is that we have been in good positions in the past, Jan rolls up and Wenger doesn't make the additions that gets us over the line, I'm cringing at the thought of them doing the opposite to give themselves the best chance possible, I'm sure by the end of Jan they will.
Their cover is better than ours. If VdV gets injured they can switch to a 4-4-2 formation and play Defoe up top (a concept you never see round these parts called tactical flexibility I believe). Quality players like Kranjcar, Giovani and Pienaar hardly get a game for them. If Modric is out they have plenty of cover as well with the likes of Huddlestone and the kid Livermore who impressed last night.
If RvP gets injured we have Mary-Anne and the Invisible Korean to call on.
