As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Sid that happened once Wilshere went down.
It is now being propped up by Song, Arteta (who basically does his job and Song's job) and Ramsey (who can't be creative if everyone is standing still or in an offside positon every time he gets the ball).
We generally create fuck all during 90 minutes of a game these days.
That will only change with the introduction of Wilshere alongside Arteta and Ramsey with Song dumped on the bench.

Song was still in the team when Willshire played so why drop him to the bench, he has also been our most creative player this season, setting up most of RVP's goals, so why play Arteta (who I think has been a huge dissappointment) ahead of him.
Song has already been condemned by gooners, who in my opinion are talking through their fucking arses. I expect many to get their wish, and he will move on to a bigger club next season.
Then we can leave our fate at the feet of Arteta and Ramsey (who has also been pretty fucking shit this season) but hey that's all Alex Song's fault. And they will suddenly shine simply because of Jack.
Of the two I honestly think Parker is better. No, he's not top class by any means, but he is a better player, passer, tackler and general DM than Song. Song at his best is average - he'd look great in the Championship but he is not good enough to play that role in the PL. At his worst Song is a liability.
I wouldn't actively want to sign Parker, but if it came to a straight choice between Parker and Song I'd choose Parker every time.

Sid while I agree with your stance on Song (one of our most important players imo) saying that Arteta has been a 'huge disappointment' is nothing short of bullshit.

Can't you see the major fault in your logic Sid? Song has been our most creative player this season. He's not supposed to be. He seems to create mainly for RVP, the one player in the front 3 who doesn't solely run in straight lines.
Song isn't quick enough of mind or foot to play as high up as he does. Creating one good scoring chance every 45 minutes isn't enough if you play that high up the field. It's why we bumble along for most of a match these days.
When Wilshere comes back he will bring more skill, more energy and just more of a player than any we currently have. This will help Ramsey to have someone on the same wavelength and his production will go up.
Arteta wasn't bought to be the holding midfielder but the fact that he does shows he has discipline to his game. Something Song sorely lacks.
So when it comes to it, Ramsey and Wilshere will offer more attacking opportunies and Arteta will be more defensively disciplined.
Tell me now, where does Song fit into that formula?
I'm not saying the return of Wilshere will see us bounding up the table but the one thing I will guarantee is that the football we play will be a damn site more threatening than it currently is.
Disagree with Sid on Song but agreed on Arteta. Arteta is mediocre and I shan't tire of saying it. If he'd been any good, a big club woulda signed him ages ago. He is no better than Danny Murphy (as proven not once but twice this season)....

City tried to sign him when they came into money, Moyes blocked it, it caused a stir, your point has just been shown to be nonsense as clubs did try to sign him.

So Citeh and all their wealth couldn't sign him but we, and our tight arses could?? How did this happen? And can you pls submit a link to confirm this please? Never heard of that one ever.
Btw I mean Bid confirmation story, not Daily Star rumour

And yes. Arteta is mediocre.
I'm not submitting a link, its the internet, let Google be your friend.
City couldn't buy him because it was around the time City buggered them over Lescott, if anything that is the reason we got him because Moyes couldn't stand in his way again as he's older now.
Anyway, I'm not here to argue with you, he's not mediocre but I can understand why you think he is.

I've a feeling that when Jack comes back it'll be Ramsey relegated to the bench.
Think Jack will play more defensively alongside Song and Arteta will be given a more creative role, similair to the way he played at Everton.
Mikel Arteta has been one of the best midfielders in the PL consistently for the past 5 years and has carried it on since he moved to us. I won't tire from saying that either.
Some of the pre-meditated abuse of him on here proves to me he'll never be given a chance in some quarters because he's "not Cesc". Just like Diaby was never given a chance because he's "not Vieira"
The guy has played every league game since he arrived and been the best midfielder in just about every one of them. He has showed Song up for the laughing stock that he really is, and is a better player than Ramsey will ever be (and that's not a dig at Ramsey).
Just watch the GIC keep Song in the team and then perm 2 from the other 3 when Wilshere's back, proving once and for all he's as tactically adept as Graham Taylor
