Quick points because I need to get off to work, but:
1. Even if Sp*rs won the league, I highly doubt Wenger/board would do anything differently. They'd probably congratulate their achievement and say "they had some good quality and mental strength but next year we will be closer to this position because our players will be older" or some other PR line bs.
2. Sp*rs have yet to really hit a bump in their season, but they will. It's how they react to that that will be interesting. I can see them dropping points two or three weeks in a row and slipping right down the table. I don't think they have the quality to keep up this pace until April. The weight of the pressure and expectation is going to start cracking the foundations soon enough.

i disagree, the scum play a lot worse in a 4-4-2, if they change their tactics the team will perform worse. huddlestone is shit, giovani is their own carlos vela, pienaar is overrated imo. i don't think their squad players are anywhere near their starting XI, and the fact they are up there in january is only because they haven't suffered much with injuries this season imo.1989 wrote:Their cover is better than ours. If VdV gets injured they can switch to a 4-4-2 formation and play Defoe up top (a concept you never see round these parts called tactical flexibility I believe). Quality players like Kranjcar, Giovani and Pienaar hardly get a game for them. If Modric is out they have plenty of cover as well with the likes of Huddlestone and the kid Livermore who impressed last night.
or i'm completely wrong and i only see what my heart wants me to see...

Said it before and I'll say it again: Arsene Wenger is the best thing to have happened to the Spuds in a long time. They should erect a statue of him in front of Shite Lane!
Oh and of course the AKBs won't be angry if Spuds finish ahead of us. Most of them don't even understand the rivalry! And Wenger doesn't either anymore, since someone who did would immediately resign after finishing below them.
But, when we finish 5th he will say
"This shows what a remarkable achievement it was being CL all these years"
(Yeah what an achievement one final in 14 years)

When we finish below Spuds?
"It shows the expectations and consistency that this is only the first time they finish below us."
I've said this so many times: our spineless do-nothing excuse-making fans have allowed the unthinkable to happen.
Shocking.

You are going a bit OTT by blaming it on the fans, the club and manager will do what they like, when they like, we got some dark times ahead but in his time here its only been recently that things have gone to shit, granted we haven't won anything but we have been in finals and have competed at the top end before self destruction, make no mistake, things are bad but we are not Newcastle or Blackburn, do you seriously expect the fans to burn the ground down because of the last few years? We are not spoilt brats although some act like it.Babatunde wrote:Said it before and I'll say it again: Arsene Wenger is the best thing to have happened to the Spuds in a long time. No doubt the time is coming when voices will need to be heard but have a bit of perspective about the situation, this year with last years price rise will be a year too far, previous to this can be classed as a blip, like it or not but he earned the right to work through a blip.
Them finishing above us is bad but its happened before. Them finishing above us and us not being able to beat them at least once a season is terrible but its happened before. For them to win the League has happened before but would be an absolute disaster and only winning the Champions League this year would trump it.
So... Sunday Jan. 22nd, spurs go to City and we play Utd. What a fucking dilemma. Do I want us to beat Utd & open the door for spurs?!
Always want us to win but I honestly don't think i'll care if utd beat us, in fact i'll probably be quite happy.
And i hate thinking like this because this is the kinda shit that spurs fans used to talk about in regards to us
Thanks a fucking lot Arsenal...

Sp*rs are gonna lose away at a Wigan or Blackburn or some other low-on-the-table club and they'll probably take 4 points of 9 over a short span after that. This only becomes more likely as those c*nts Sp*rs fans start getting more and more twitchy at the thought of the first title since 61.
Mark my words!
Mark my words!
I originally thought we would likely lose another 4 or 5 games. I would like to revise my prediction now - I think we'll lose another 5 games at least from now. 6th place is the highest we'll finish.Posted: Thu Jan 12, 2012 9:33 am   Post subject:
It doesn't matter what Spuds do from now on, Arsenal are NOT good enough to close that gap from now till the end of the season, we will lose at least another 4 games yet, that will be at least 10 for the season which will definitely mean finishing outside the top 4. So it doesn't really matter what Spuds do to be honest......except that there IS a chance they could win the title.
