The Myth Busted
If todays result can achieve anything then surely it must bust this myth about us not being able to compete with teams because of the vast amount of money they spend.
Make no mistake about it -this was a Total Defeat for our entire regime today. 7 of Swanseas players were sourced from Championship football or lower (a remarkable stat) and they absolutely dominated for long periods of the game. With such cheap players you would think that they would scrape by using defensive tactics to hold on for a point or nick the game at the death.
Instead they played a brand of pass and move football that put our players to shame. They outpassed and outplayed us all over the park- they used possession football to Out-Wenger Wenger. A few years ago people used to compliment us on our attacking brand of football but now we see Swansea on a shoe string budget doing what we do but better.
This is a why it is such a devastating statement about the state we are in. Our midfield earns more than their entire starting eleven and yet they were running rings around us in the centre of the park.
They have done on the cheap what Arsene has failed to do on big money- produce a great brand of football.
Hopefully now it will see the end of some of the favourite lines that AKBs trot out about Arsene- aka we play great football and he does it on such a small budget.
Today we saw a team who ACTUALLY meet this criteria and have shown these statements up to be the crock of shit that most of us know it is.
Wrong . Brendan Rodgers is guilty of financial doping. Money is ruining the game. Swansea were thugs trying to stop our flowing game.
Ok so Rodgers has assembled a superior football team for a fraction of the cost....but errrr....
WHO WOULD YOU REPLACE WENGER WITH?
Guardiola in a nut shell.

Why the nut shell? What would that bring to the club?mcdowell42 wrote:Babatunde wrote:Wrong . Brendan Rodgers is guilty of financial doping. Money is ruining the game. Swansea were thugs trying to stop our flowing game.

Jose will win the league this year and there's talk Bielsa will be replacing Guardiola in June.
If Arsenal fans pile on the pressure, Pep could be our manager next season and we could enjoy watching our club and be proud of it again. Oh and we'd have a classy manager with excellent tactical brain too...

ffs we have to move on from this knee jerk mentality every time we have a result that doesn't go our way.

That's fucking hilarious! Knee jerk reactions to having the worst defence in the premiership away from home and having lost one third of our matches so far this season!?
What a tit! What do you think is going well for Arsenal exactly??

Bullshit post. Bullshit poster.Demun210 wrote:This is all knee-jerk bollocks, I hate to say. Swansea beat us today with a well organised and drilled team, but these results happen and will do season in, season out. Football fans need to get real these days, I know we all like to have moan when our team loses, but it seems like EVERY result is indicative of some kind of wrong/right, whereas really it's so much bigger than that.
Swansea are a team that play good football, but their win today doesn't make them a better team than us, or mean we need to have a radical re-think. We all know things aren't great at Arsenal at the moment, but ffs we have to move on from this knee jerk mentality every time we have a result that doesn't go our way.
Yeah. Seven years is "knee-jerk".Demun210 wrote:This is all knee-jerk bollocks, I hate to say. As is 8-2, 3-4, Fulham, worst away goals record in the league, steatodpheric wage bill, constant defeats to Spuds, Redknapp building a team 10 pts ahead of us, throwing the groups in the CL, £6.5 mil a year etc etc
Why am I even bothering to dissuade someone so clearly entrenched in their own delusion. You know when Nero burnt Rome down, some of his disciples simply thought the panicking was OTT, and that their Glorious Leader had put on a fireworks display?!

Hey Demun I think you'd be a great journalist for the Pyongyang Daily News, I hear they're recruiting for a head of information...

as many on here will know I usually defend the team no matter what
however I really can't after that performance. that was disgraceful
is Wenger now going to buy someone this window?
I don't count Henry, as he is merely a marketing gimmick.
the worst thing Wenger has said this week? - that he is going to allow the moroccan to come back
we need another striker NOW. I don't care how much it costs. Maybe that 6.5% increase can be used for it.
also maybe after today people will still stop defending that arrogant brat we have in goal these days. what has he done in the first fortnight of the year apart from let in FIVE goals? he may have potential but at the moment he is fucking shit. we need an experienced keeper to help out NOW
I am not buying another ticket until Wenger spends some more money, but I still blame the board even more. KROENKE OUT NOW

Demun210 wrote:Haha, look, we can all adopt your approach by listing bad results to justify our opinions, but some of us are more intelligent than that. Unfortunately every post you make is made largely irrelevant by the fact you've got a massively biased, ill-informed, anti-Wenger agenda. For that reason, I don't take a single one of your posts seriously.Babatunde wrote:Yeah. Seven years is "knee-jerk".Demun210 wrote:This is all knee-jerk bollocks, I hate to say.
