Does AW realise whats really at stake?
Does AW realise whats really at stake?
Without Van Persie scoring in the following games, we’d be worse than average!
Though as it stands we have 11 wins, 3 draws and 7 losses ! But, it would be 4 wins, 10 draws and 7 losses!
What Mr Wenger doesn’t realise is because he didn’t and now won’t get the cheque book out in this transfer window – I can defo see RVP not renewing his contract with us (until now I think there was hope – if AW had done some trf activity this Jan window)…
FACT : Without RVP ‘winning’ the following 7 games for us, we’d only have 22 points, which would put us 6th from bottom!
Home v QPR, Away v Villa, Home v Everton, Away v Norwich, Away v Chelsea, Home v Stoke, Home v Sunderland

Problem is we can't finish.....if we converted 10% of the missed chances then we'd be a goal a game better off.....that converts into roughly 10 pts...we'd be in a title race
Sammy i dont know which is funnier us in a title race or goetze joining us this jan

No, that most certainly is not a FACT. Why do some people see that the only way of emphasizing a point is to write 'fact' in all caps?jaybee wrote:Without Van Persie scoring in the following games, we’d be worse than average!

You can't just take his goals away. It doesn't work like that. If he wasn't there, someone else would have been. Now, as shite as our striking options are, any number of different things could have happened - just by virtue of another body being there. A midfielder could have scored with a deflection. We could have got a pen from a Chamakh dive. Our opponents could have scored an own goal. Anything could have happened.
So, while I agree that without RvP we'd probably be up shit creek, to say that it is a fact that without him no other goals would have been scored is nonsense.
There's nothing at stake for Wenger. He got a nice meaty contract extension on the back of sweet FA for the past 5 years.
£6m a year guaranteed until 2014. His bosses know fuck all about football and would be scared shitless if he left and certainly won't sack him (they would also have to part with the unpaid £12m if they did it now). So he can carry on dicking about with his project safe in the knowledge he is bombproof and with at least 30000 people still singing his name and hanging off his every word

No wonder he doesn't have any knowledge of tactics, or new ideas for training, he spends all week thinking of the next bullshit excuse for why we've just lost yet another game!
