The only squad that Arsenal will invest in.....
is THE FANS..
Think about it. Arsenal and Arsene have built a squad of fans that invest money in the Club week in week out. When we get "injuries", be it from fans voting with their feet, or by being priced out, the "bench" of fans is there to fill in the gaps and keep the money coming in.
The tipping point will come when the "squad" is no longer strong enough to sustain the Business. At that point modest investment will be made to bring the lemmings back. That's what last Summer was. Big money banked and shite signed up for half the price.
But the worm has turned. Wenger and the Board are in this tohether on a Moneyball-esque super-plan.
Fuck Wenger and fuck the Board.

I don't believe the board and Wenger are in it together. They might have a good relationship, but they have different motives imo.
Wenger has just lost the plot as a manager and it shows in his matchday performances and transfer market behaviour.
The board are leeches and always have been. David Dein kept this club competitive, after his departure there was no one to drag the club by the scruff of its neck.
As much as Wenger is blameable, so are the board.
"If we sell Cesc and Nasri, we can't convince anyone that we are an ambitious club".
That was a message to the board from Wenger. The board are as big a problem as the manager. They're both as bad as each other and are letting the club down.

It said to me that Wenger has overpriced the goodwill of his past achievements, and not realised why those two players would want to exit the club in it's current condition.

why aren't the board telling Wenger to buy this month?
what does Gazidis actually do?
All Kroenke is bothered about is making sure fans renew their season tickets so that he can pop over for the AGM and say everything is fine - and from his point of view he is actually correct.

Wenger has said it was his decision to sell them in the end, so either he's taking a bullet for the board (which I can't see if they let him down) or it is as Quartz says.QuartzGooner wrote:It was a message to me, IF he genuinely meant what he said.1989 wrote: As much as Wenger is blameable, so are the board.

You ungrateful bastard - you've forgotten those murals already haven't you eh eh? And there's a lot of fucking planning that goes into a live screening of Fever Pitch, then there's paper clips to be ordered, and Stan's suit to get dry cleanedRed Member wrote:Spot on.1989 wrote:I don't believe the board and Wenger are in it together. Oh, and he's been working for months on a complete review of ticketing arrangements, as the BSM have pointed out. Surely you believe that will contain all sorts of little nice-to-have's for the fans? I'm mean he's so sincere isn't he
