CHESNEY ARSENAL LEGEND

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He's made some mistakes, as is to be expected but he's still better than the three others we have. Mannone has played 10 games for the first team in total in how many years ??? Almunia is earning a first team salary and is 3rd choice and as for the other useless c**t, words fail me

Add it to the list of Wenger's dumbing down of positions that started with the break-up of the Invincibles side and has continued ever since. A select reminder of the decisions our Dear Leader has made in that time:

- Sell one of Europe's finest left backs and replace him with a tempermental troublemaker + £5m....then go on to make him team captain

- Sell Gilberto and Diarra in the same year convinced that your other CDM, one paced plodder Flamoney will stay, only to lose all three for the princely sum of £6.5m, spending the proceeds on 18 year old Aaron Ramsey and 17 year old Francis Coquelin. Effectively guarantee Alex Song the CDM role

- Give 5 year deals to Denilson, Vela, Bendtner and Fabianski - players that Stevie Wonder could see after a dozen games would never ever be good enough to wear the shirt. Let their wages drain 150k per week or so out of the club and farm them out on loan as nobody wants them

- Having endured the worst of Eboue for years on end, sell him eventually and then replace him with a guy who has played eight games for Charlton Athletic, throwing him to the wolves in an 8-2 defeat at Old Trafford that also saw Traore, lansbury and co. get their arses tanked

- Play your only fit left back in the dead rubber in Greece and watch him pick up a 3 month injury

- Sign "super quality" Park as a first team squad striker and claim that he was amongst your main transfer targets. Watch him fail to even make an impact at reserve level during a six month "adaption period". Desperately recall a 34 year old striker when it becomes apparent that the Camel and Super Quality are unlikely to score more than 2 PL goals between them all season

I could go on......

Point is Chesney's over-promotion is just one on a long, long list of almighty balls-ups. I expect to hear he's signed a 50k per week 5 year deal shortly....

Boys that stuff has been going on for 5 years or more. There's a load more stuff that could be added - his repeatedly failure to sign a PL centre half (which is still haunting us), the now customary transfer window debacles culminating in the sale of the club's two most creative players etc etc

Come April time when we've failed dismally AGAIN, he'll look ashen faced AGAIN, he'll bemoan injuries and bad luck AGAIN........and the goldfish brains will say AGAIN "Oh, this time he'll sort it out in the Summer....he knows what we need......there will be a clear out" etc etc etc

I just can't believe people have allowed themselves to believe it at least 4 years on the trot.

The list above is damning and has all been done under his watch. Shocking. In no other walk of life would that neglection of duty be tolerated

unfortunately Kroenke hit the jackpot when he bought into Arsenal.
he knows we have fans that will renew year after year no matter how bad things get.

People are free to do what they want. If they are happy with what they are seeing and still enjoy it, then its up to them. The issue I have is with people that whinge like mad about the situation and fail to realise that the one important thing they have in their grasp is the ST renewal. All this nonsense about not buying a burger or a shirt, or boycotting the first 10 minutes etc is all absolutely worthless when you've paid £1500 a year in advance.

If anything these people are feeding the monster that the BSM are trying to take on head-to-head. The more often the ground is filled to capacity, then the more you will see ticket price rises and larger net profits being made by the club

totally agree Steveo.

the club will soon get the message about ticket prices if people dont go.
look at what they have done to the Carling Cup tickets for example.

actually I think if we had performed better on the pitch this season I wouldn't have been surprised to see Kroenke increase prices further. I get the impression he wants to see how far he can push things with us.

the people who have a season ticket because they want to sit next to their friends remind me of people who have debenture seats at the Wimbledon tennis because they will renew regardless of what shit is put up for them to watch. And look how shit british tennis has been.

Loudmouth is at it again.

"We don't deserve to be outside the top 4 but I continue to insist we will finish ahead of Spurs".

So many things wrong with that statement. The continued small time syndrome that we will catch Spuds, when we won't.
Key here though is, if we had a better keeper that didn't cost us points at Fulham, that didn't cost us points against Swansea, that didn't ship EIGHT at Old Trafford and that didn't oooh let me see...oh yeah give Kyle Walker an absolute GIFT at Spuds then we'd be much better off!

I can't believe this idiot is still mouthing off. Who the fuck does he think he is? Constantly trying to make headlines. Bags of potential and talent but he might throw it all away.

Under Feeguson he'd be in the reserves for being such a loud nob with no achievements in the game. At Arsenal?

He'll get a new contract

Yeah, I couldn't believe that quote either.

Thing is, he's a cocky young lad, and he's not the first and won't be the last to talk rubbish BUT Arsenal shouldn't be giving him their website to use as a platform.
