Fuck it Im starting a transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The lad who I've been harping on about for a while, Papiss Cisse, is Newcastle bound.

He'll make the same impact as Ba.

What a pathetic and desperate club we have become! :banghead:
I don't mind us having the players kids at the club when they are that young, at 5 it is probably more playing for fun than serious training. Plus if any of them turn out good atleast they started in our system so may play for us.

This thread is depressing as hell- the moment the GIC opened his mouth you just knew that no-one decent was coming in.

Newcastle have been badly in need of a striker as they rely too much on Demba Ba so what do they do?

They have went and bought Papiss Cisse for £10m. The 2nd top scorer in the Bundesliga behind Goetze even whilst playing for a midtable club was available for £10m.

Still never mind, its not as if we needed a goalscoring striker is it with the prowess of Super Quality Park and Chamslack to come back from the ACON is it?

I fucking despair because its not as if this deal was out of our cheap crunt of a managers "price bracket". A guy in his prime at 26 and good to go for the next 4/5 years.

Most likely situation:
We will sell Arshavin just before the window closes. It will be a complete surprise for AW, who was convinced he would stay. He will spend the last few hours of the deadline relentlessly searching for a replacement. Statement the following day, "I tried, but it's very difficult at such short notice"

How to do a transfer, the Newcastle way

January 16: Begin negotiations.
January 18: Present players as your £10 mil signing

How to do transfers, the Wenger way:

January 3: begin negotiations
January 7: agree fee
January 11: backtrack on fee and try get an extra £2 mil, even though you have £50 mil in your back pocket.
January 18: continue to haggle over an extra mil
January 24: having agreed a fee, do not deposit money in account
January 29: watch in dismay as Ebbsfleet come in and steal the player under your nose
January 30: wheel out Gazidis and Wenger to remind that "we cannot compete with Ebbsfleet"
January 31: sell a player or two at midnight. Don't replace. Pass go and collect an extra 200.
