Questions for ST holders

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The collective power to the tune of £35M?!

(Roughly calcalated as 35k ST holder X £1,000 ave cost)

the season ticket question is very apt and i too have queried in my mind why support something that is so obviously going down the pan. its too expensive we know that-why for instance are arsenal the only club or one of them that include 7 cup credits but expect you to pay upfront. financially its obscene which is why i now share mine 50/50 to cover some costs. i want to go to silver only eventually. i would bet there is a lot like me. fed up with the direction the club is going but unable to break the habit.

That's not right Boomer. There are 40k ST holders, at more than 1,000 a year, the lowest price is 985, and I pay 3,000 a year per ST. Average price can't be 1k a ticket.

The clue was when I said "roughly calculated".
As if I was going to collate the different ST costs for an ave!

I know the lower fee as that's mine but I knew the highest are way more so rounded up to around £1,000 per ST.
I did think there were more ST holders around the 40K mark so opted for 35 to be sure.

If anything it proves my point the collective power of ST's is £45M+?!

Happy now!?

Between you, you have shown the collective power you have and remember its all cash a year in advance - not many businesses enjoy that cash flow profile, and it is a valuable commodity, so you are without any doubt the most important "customers" to the club

By the way, I don't hold it against individuals for renewing. As I said I'm in a fortunate enough position to go whenever I want pretty much without the commitment of an ST of my own. I understand the feeling as to why people wouldn't give it up, especially if you've waited years and as many point out its a way of sitting together.

I think this is precisely why the club won't allow you to downgrade to Silver memberships, as you would still pretty much be guaranteed seats with your mates (with rare exceptions) but the club loses your annual commitment. No matter what Gazidis comes up with in his year long "review of ticketing arrangements" I feel certain this option to step down a level will not be offered. If he did then you guys would hold the power even more than you do now

Further to my opening post however, I also have a Red membership. In the last 8 months I have jumped up 6,641 places on the Silver waiting list to 5,773. Which should mean I will have a Silver before the end of the year. Then I may seriously consider giving up the ST for the silver.

There is no way that they would allow a downgrade to silver , in the current climate they would lose the large percentage of s.t's and not only would they lose the cash upfront look at the box office chaos that would ensue. They can't get it right now but increase the pressure by 50% they would sink.

I have 3 ST's (1 adult, 2 kids) with 15+ away match credits. If we get to a cup final or semi final then we are pretty much guaranteed a ticket. Should something change at the club and we have a successfull season in the league then.....guaranteed a ticket for pretty much any game.

Massive risk in giving that up (watching Paris 2006 from a bar....never again!), and I think it's mainly non-ST holders that don't see that.

At the moment though I share the tickets with friends. It's difficult to "sell" a midweek game as it is. If this becomes a Europa League game then no chance. Better that we don't qualify at all! That would be the thing that might convince me to give them up i.e. if I had to shell out the £1,600 with minimal chance of sharing the cost.

Also, my boys are now 14 and 16 so it won't be long before I'd be buying 3x adult tickets.....£3,000. To afford them (especially if boys are away at Uni for most of the season) I would need to be confident of being able to sell via ticket exchange.

Do you have to be in the Family Enclosure to get those concessions? I pay £1160 for one, but my old man is now over 65 bt still paying full whack as we thought he'd have to shift if he paid less?

CANT THINK OF NOT RENEWIJNG

Post by Herd »

I accept them warts and all.

I would only not renew if i was so broke I couldn't raise the money .

1 seat is taken by a pal and the other is for my son when he wants to go which is about 10/15 times a season.

I have seen 2 home games this season and don't expect to see anymore so it works out quite expensive but i can;t let go.
