If Spurs win the league . . .

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Would Spurs winning the league be such a bad thing?

Dear fucking God!

^^^^^ Spot on !!!

Also, is this the first time in NL football history that, THEY have relied upon us to get a result against Utd at the weekend. League or otherwise?

Over many seasons, (another era to the JCL's) we were use to 'hoping' that THEY might nick a point against Utd to either give us a distinct advantage in the title chase or, to keep us in the hunt for it. Wankers generally lost handsomely against Utd, and then feel it was like a victory.

THEM winning the league, is like finding your missus in bed with the Avon lady and forgetting where the video camera is. Then slitting your wrists with a spoon. :banghead: Painful enough for you?

If the swamp dwellers win it we'd never EVER hear the end of it, what with them beating the Oilgarchs and Man Utd to the title in the same year we probably drop out the top four.

To them it would probably surpass our Invincibles!!

It cannot be allowed to happen, where is that Mariott Hotel chef?

cameron326 wrote:honestly thoughholder for, my original post wasn't (much of) a wind up, although I knew it'd get a lively response. I've been an Arsenal fan for 25 years. I was a season ticket holder at Highbury, before moving abroad.

Perhaps having a couple of Spurs fans in the family means that I don't share the all out hatred of the club (apart from when the NLD is in fulls wing) as do some here - its more of a heated but good spirited rivalry for me. (although not much of a rivalry over the past couple of decades!)

Anyway, I can't really refer to a member of my own family as Y** C*** as certain members of this forum do, simply for having the misfortune of growing up as a Spurs fan. If that kind of thinking is what being a real fan means, well, whatever. As much as I hate Spurs, I'd still rather a real football team win the English premier league rather than the pet project of some corrupt Arab oil state.
please stop.fucking hell :banghead:

is this a joke? i'd rather man utd and city shared the next 20 titles between them than spurs won it!

and you can fucking guarantee that should spurs win the league (now or ever) regardless of the quality of the league or their team, THAT team will suddenly become the best team ever, better than the '02 or '04 arsenal team, and the really annoying thing is, the press will probably allude to that too!! such is the bum licking of dirty harry that the minute he wins anything with spurs he'll suddenly become the best manager ever behind taggart

cameron/wum,

frightfully sorry about the syntax of my prior post, some of us actually have work to do and can only real of a very quick response without checking the spelling, but im sure you get the sentiment.

you are a wum, and most likely a ****.

i refuse to believe you were ever a season ticket holder, and the admittance that you have **** in your family suggests you are either a glory hunter or talking bollox, cos 99% of people support the team thats already in their blood....either that or your a tarquin where loyalties count for nothing.

the fact you use the insult douchebag suggests your either a kid or at most in your early teens. as does the fact you make fun of dyslexia.

finally i merely say; "so what if a club run by a despot regime wins the league???" its football not politics, who gives a shit how they make their money, how can you say they havent earned there position, they have shit loads of money, so what its up to them to spend, and its up to our stingy owners to do the same but they wont...i dont hear anyone complaining about what we did in the 30's in regards earning our position through organic growth.... fact is they have money and are using it.

also if your suggesting city are backed up by a despot regime, i suggest you get an education pronto, cos that just shows your ignorance (as does your ridiculous initial comments). firstly they aint backed by saudis as you mention, they are backed by an emirati state. secondly, neither the saudi regime, or especially the emirates regimes are corrupt or despotic...indeed the emirates are some of the most lenient, tolerant and progressive regimes in the arab world for their ctizens. as for the saudis the regime is one of the better you will find in comparison to other arab nations, plus they are one of our biggest allies and we would be seriously fucked, as would the middle east as a whole without their 'corrupt' regime......

o dear.

now do me a favour a f off you prick.

This ^^^^^^

I'd also noted the use of "douchebag". What a fucking poxy word. Frequently used by spotty teenagers/pre-teens making stupid comments on Youtube.

Nothing will ever change that c**t Wenger or the boards philosophies, and for the life of me I cant see how any Gooner would rather have those y** c**ts win the league rather than Man U or Man City, fucking unbelievable
Well, its not really Man City is it? Its money from a corrupt Saudi regime the likes of which should be allowed nothing to do wth English football. Its destroying the game in this country, while serving as great PR to prop up a vile regime. So yeah, I'd rather Spurs won it than them. Some things are a bit more important and significant than a few years bragging rights over your rival. Perhaps you dont have the intelligence to appreciate that.

As for Man Utd or Spurs, I couldn't really care less, I hate them both. Any other year I'd definitely favour a Man Utd title, but this year is differenct. The club is blatantly stagnating and maybe a shock to the system is what the club needs to initialise a bit of proper investment.
Firstly Man City's owners are Emirati not Saudi.

Secondly if the regime/country is so vile, why are 80% of the population voluntary immigrants (Western and Asian)?

Thirdly according to your logic, if North Korea (a truly vile regime) buys Bolton for example and they then go on to win the Premiership, it will be great PR. How exactly? Will everyone suddenly forget their vileness?

And if you care so much about ethics. Then may I remind that Sp*rs' Joe Lewis is a tax exile and that their wheeler-dealer of a manager is a crook. Ethics begin at home.

.
This is a common misconception. 'Arry has had one decent window for transfers, the summer just gone.
Do people realise that between 2006 and 2011, Spuds spent £238m on transfers? That's just £36m less than Chelsea in the same period!! Oh, and over £150m more than us.

So no, Spurs certainly haven't got where they are by paying reasonable prices. They have a very good squad now, but they've paid premium prices to get where they are.
