SPUDS AT HOME

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'd love to know why everyone thinks it's the beginning of the end for Wenger, or that there will be some sort of pivotal game or moment that ends up with him walking out or being bombed out

He is here till 2014. Jimmy "Tighter than a crab's arse" Kronkee-Krankee and Ivan "my subordinate actually chose me as his manager" Gazidis aren't going to sanction a £12m payment to get rid of him 2 years before the contract is up.

Not only is he here as manager till 2014, I bet he gets a Director of Football role for a while after that too....to carry on the legacy of tippy-tappy, lone striker dross that he specialises in

Arsene knows..........and will do for another 2 and a half years :barscarf:

What about for all the "Who'd heard of Fabregas and Nasri 4 years ago" banner wavers at Old Trafford ? :D :D :D

Rodders, I am putting you down for the "Real fans have patience" banner at the next RedWanktion march when the Dear Leader's contract is running down. Sorry Augie, I think Rodders deserves that job :D

This game will end the Wenger regime.

I wish it wasn't the scum who put the final nail in the coffin of our most successful manager but they'll be doing us a favour in the long run.

I still haven't heard anyone put forward an argument that convinces me he will be gone, regardless of this game or any other this season

Remember it will cost £12m or so to bullet him this year. Do you really think Kroenke will allow that to happen.

Wenger will convince him and his pet puppy Gazidis that this season was all down to "special circumstances" regardless of whether we finish 5th or 10th, will sanction the sale of RvP to bridge the loss of income, and we'll back here next season watching the continuation of the decline.

You are right this will not be the game after which AW goes. However....

I am going to this with my son (however he is a lot older than other sons mentioned earlier in thread) we are also going to Milan just before. I discussed with my lad that after we watch us lose in Milan followed by losing against the scum this will be when the real unrest starts from the fans. He may not go aftre this but the feelings will be well known by all. We will certainly be voicing how pissed off we are after some of the dross i have watched this season. This will be the finalstraw for me!!

Wenger's ego is our best chance of getting rid. I agree the board will never sack him but they might not need to.

Look at the silvestre "geriatric" moment and his response to some booing of a substitution. I dont think the bloke will have the bottle to stick around when things really turn nasty. He talks of being committed to the club but its easy to be committed when you're worshipped for failing and left to undertake any vanity project you like.

When the fans fully turn on him watch how many stories linking him to other clubs will spring up out of thin air.

I will be at the back of block 6, with 'ROSIE 47' on the back of this year's polo shirt, so if any of you see someone of that description running over to Block 1 after 85 minutes when Bale scores their seventh, unleashing a foul mouthed tirade and getting thrown out, do come over and say hi 8)

Stevo, if the fans turn on him completely he'll walk. Wenger is a bottler and can't take the heat, he's an arrogant *word censored* and has too much pride to sit through 60,000 people abusing him. The fans have the power to force Wenger out, sadly, there are too many idiots and deluded mugs among them who think Wenger is God.

Which is precisely why I think he'll stay (plus 6 million other reasons per annum too of course)

Trouble is there are still at least 50% of the fans, possibly more, that would still forgive him a mauling at home to the Spuds and buy into all the excuses.

The fans like us that want him out will be rounded on by Hill-Wood and the exec team as being "ungrateful", and the press will side with them. Already in last night's LES there was an article by the pompous Patrick Barclay saying how disrespectful it was for us to criticise the Dear Leader on Sunday. FFS, they even dragged up the booing of Eboue against Wigan from nearly 4 years ago :banghead:

Although Barclay - who, to be fair is normally one of the better writers and usually a lot more sympathetic to Arsenal than most of the other football scribes - did get an enormous amount of stick from the gooners that replied in the comments section, and deservedly so 8)
