Le Prof.
Yeah, we got use to calling him that you know. He was too, compared to Bertie Mee, Terry O'Neill, Don Howe, George Graham, Bruce Rioch et al. His successes were somewhat more meaningful because of the way we played the game. He changed our players diets, training regimes, and even gave us regular success. We were rewarded with trophies, days out at cup finals and away day Championship wins.
He was even known to wear a magic hat. A leader of The Invincibles.
A gentleman, respected too, after a few years here.
Calm, calculated and articulate in his summaries of games.
His vision was to reward the supporters with a ground that meets the expectations of any tourist that ever wanted a great sporting experience. No more a working man's club, because of the cost of supporting them.
Fast forward to 2012.
Six years and no success, but plenty of new heights of humiliation. No trophies.
Players who's names are always on the team sheet now that, never in the days of trophy winners would they be on the bench.
A manager who, didn't see it, pitch was poor, we are tired, too many matches, ref was crap, kick the water bottle, gobbing off in his technical area, handbags with other managers. Ungracious git.
Tell me please. If he is so disgusted with the boards financial constraints. Should he do the honourable thing and quit in protest?
I thought not. The bugger is in cahoots with Stan and the other leeches.
You missing my money yet Stan???????
