"AS IF Arsenal fans weren't depressed enough, now comes more dispiriting news that Theo Walcott is keen to stay at the club. Apparently the 22-year-old winger is ready to sit down with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to discuss extending his contract which expires in the summer of 2013.
The Metro claims that Walcott is "happy at the Emirates", which is more than can be said about Arsenal fans who have long since tired of the England player's inconsistent performances. Yet despite six years of under-achievement Walcott is asking Arsenal for a new wage structure worth £100,000-a-week, plus "clarification over bonus and image clauses" that could earn the wasteful winger as much as £5m a year.
Earlier in the season Walcott was linked with a possible move to Juventus but perhaps the Italian club have since seen him in action."
