As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

January first team return looks possible according to this latest article in the Daily Telegraph:

By Jeremy Wilson

11:00PM GMT 07 Nov 2011

"Jack Wilshere has outlined a desire to finish his career with Arsenal and revealed that he hopes to return from his ankle injury by the end of the year.

It was initially feared that Wilshere would not play again until February but, in what would be a major boost both for England and Arsenal, the 19-year-old has said that he expects to be training in five weeks following successful surgery on a stress fracture in his right ankle.

Wilshere sustained the initial injury in England’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Switzerland in June and suffered a setback during the Emirates Cup tournament at the end of July.

“It’s going really slow at the minute and obviously I’m really frustrated,â€

He said on his own twitter page last night:

As I said had 6 week X-ray earlier and all going well. I can start to work a bit harder now. #AFC

So the title of this thread isn't without irony :roll: :roll: :lol:

Didnt he say that he was close to a comeback right before he had that last op ? Tbh I dont give much credibility to any of these rumours about injured players returning cos they are only repeating what the medical staff are telling them and we all know how reliable our medical staff are when it comes to diagnosing correctly :roll: :oops: :oops:

My favourite quote from the Arseblog article;
From there we saw the ‘old’ building and being in the first team dressing room was a bit cool. Even though it was free of players it was easy to imagine the place full and buzzing before training. There was the massage area where players put their names down for a rub-down pre or post training. A white board keeps track of where they might need work. It’d be safe to say that a dressing room joker was at work when he scribbled that Robin van Persie had a ‘tight anus’.

Hopefully he is back and can get a couple of games before United come in January, if he starts training mid December QPR would be the earliest sensible come back game.

Though how much I really trust this I am now sure.

You said he was going to be wheelchair-bound, out for the season and no tournament. 100%. Now, its 4 weeks - and you say you're not too far off the money?

Maybe not the money, but your head...yes...100%
