Fuck it Im starting a transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

predictable

Post by lowerwest »

as predictable as the day is long.

jan1-we might sign a defender

jan 20- its important we get people back

jan 27-we arent close to signing anyone

every window the same. stuck in torturous limbo. we wont get rid of him and we are only going one place & thats down.

*sigh*

Without Jack, we won't even get that mid-season "like a new" signing.

no, but it will be perfect for the next summer window, when we won't sign anybody as well because "we didn't have jack for any single match last season, so now he will be LANS"

"Nobody will move out of the Club."
And when you're earning as much as some of the players do, without any pressure to perform, why would you?  :banghead: :banghead:

the part about nobody leaving is nearly as bad as the nobody coming in bit.

for me:
denilson sell or release
diaby sell or release
walcott play him as a striker or sell (Gerv, Ryo, chambo should play wings)
bendtner sell
almunia or vito sell or release one of them
chamackh sell or release
sqilachi sell or release

Sign:

A goalkeeper
A striker
A def mid
A versatile defender
double contact of rvp (buy two strikers if he turns it down)
raise contract of vermalen

If we get our defenders fit we dont need to sign new ones.. but thats a big if..

We DESPERATLY need a center midfielder and another striker.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can we sign Sahin or Goetze or anyone of that mould.. a creative, skillful and super quality player in the middle of the park

Now that Tevez's deal has collapsed - why can't we take a punt until the end of the year? Would love to see him take some of the scoring load off of RVP...

Oh yeah..I forgot - we have Henry.

i think the problem is the wage structure - those shit players you mentioned are mostly receiving 50k+ a week, who else in their right state of mind would pay such a high ammount to those wankers? and for some strange reason, we don't do that thing of completing the difference in wages ourselves until the end of their contracts with us to facilitate the transfers, meaning we're stuck with them until their contracts are over - no player wants their wages reduced, even if it means more first team chances.

funny, as that is financial suicide - we waste a spot in the squad to a player the manager himself does not trust, and we lose the opportunity of having some of the money invested in the player coming back, even if just a part of it. and for a manager who hates to "kill the progress of the youngsters" keeping fuckers like arshavin is what's actually slowing the progress of oxlade, ryo, etc. i'd rather have afobe playing for the first team than chamakh, at least he may grow up to become a good striker!

but hey, at least we can have denilson back for next season :barscarf:

I am starting to warm to this guy - Londoner as well. Looked good so far, so hope he gets the nod this weekend.
