Any other club would be saying to the russians that if they want this deal done then it has to be now cos we need to get in a replacement but our *word censored* will have no interest in bringing in a replacement and it would suit wenger to drag it out for a few more weeks so that he can have the outstanding chamakh and the klingon back from africa

Agreed, they are sad twats.Percy Dalton wrote:Sky Sports News has had me laughing!
They have all the Deadline Day stuff and the countdown clocks and they have fuck all of any real interest to talk about as nobody of any note is going anywhere!
Every half hour they are going on about a last minute rush and still nothing happens!

I will be sad when he goes simply for what might have been, granted he's gone off the boil but he's a victim of a rigid system that handicaps so many players past and present, an inflexible manager and is now the scapegoat for our frustrations because of said manager.
Walk in his shoes for a bit, he's signed because of his strength as a playmaker and has never played that role, even after Cesc left we've had to endure Ramsey with his stupid flicks yet he's never been given that chance to dictate a game while Ramsey has and has failed, Arshavin has been no worse than Ramsey this season.
He ain't a grafter, that is clear but he is on his day a talent, sadly this manager couldn't get the best out of him but he has it in him as we saw it when he first came.
Sad really, he could have played in the Cesc role this year and might have done well.

Mate, I cannot agree with that. The bloke has been pants for as long as I can remember. He is an embarrassment, and has not made any recent significant (positive) contributions to the team whatsoever.begeegs wrote:If we aren't going to replace him with proven quality, then we need to keep him. Despite what people think, he is still better than a 19 year old crock from Dortmund with no PL experience.

He scored the winner against Barcelona, I will never forget that.
Yes he's been pants, he's given up but on this occasion he's not the only one to blame.

Other than a couple of assists recently, you mean...Top Londoner wrote:Mate, I cannot agree with that. The bloke has been pants for as long as I can remember. Yeah, he has been poor this year - I'd agree, but is this kid going to better straight away? No chance.
The Ox has taken Arshavin's place, but I'd rather have him coming off of the bench. He still is decent enough to scare defenders.
Agreed, he is a player with no reason to be loyal to Wenger, therefore must have been thinking "what the fuck have I done coming here to play under this fool?" And so just thought fuck it why should I bother, maybe not a great attitude, but understandable.Gunnersaurus wrote:I will be sad when he goes simply for what might have been, granted he's gone off the boil but he's a victim of a rigid system that handicaps so many players past and present, an inflexible manager and is now the scapegoat for our frustrations because of said manager.

Wenger could go out and sign a Schweinsteiger or a Messi tomorrow, and within weeks they would be looking around him and thinking the same thing.
Wenger is the problem, he is the one we should be wishing out the door, then let a new man sort out the squad.

Completley disagree. Him being shit is not the problem, its him being fucking lazy and not trying in games. So he's out wide? So what? Theo Walcott isn't a winger, he's shit, at leats he puts some sort of effort in.
Arshavin has never been the same player since Russia failed to make the World Cup. His first season he was great (playing out wide) and I'll remember him for those moments, but there is no defending the lack of effort.
