Good signing once confirmed and nice to see it done early.
It looks like the side could be pretty impressive next year with Wilshere returning and Podolski, van Persie and Chamberlin running riot, one or two more established players joining could really be the start of something good, wont get carried away until I see it though but I think the club wants to keep Robin and knows he wants to stay so are pulling their finger out early for once.
I hope RVP stays but if this guy is meant to replace him (big shoes) then at least we are ahead of the game for once. With Nasri and Cesc's departure we only seemed to start looking well after the horse had bolted and it was clear to all but Arsene that they were gone.
Hopefully we will see this guy in the same team as RVP next year together with 2-3 others.
Hope this means RvP is staying, and we are letting Chamakh sod off for more hillarity in Vegas. Nice to see us bringing someone proven into the team is this is true.

Wenger quoted in the media saying no agreement or deal has been reached or even attempted regarding Podolski. I wonder though, this could just be him attempting to stick to his 'not commenting on transfers outside the window' policy, especially given that he criticised Mancini for expressing an interest in Van Persie.

Thing is, that's typical Wenger spin there. The guy won't admit to anything untill it's too late usually. Look what happened with Cesc and Nasri. I reckon a deal has been done but we won't hear confirmation until end of the season.

Very true, I do think the deal has been done too, media outlets as respected as the BBC (usually) do not put out stories based on hot air.
when i saw it i was really afraid about this being RvP's way out being paved, specially because Podolski is nowhere near good enough to fill the capitain's shoes. He's a very good Left Winger and has a very decent finish, If he's coming to add instead of replace he'll do great.
I think Podolski is being bought to play with van Persie rather than replace him, the fact that this news is being put out in public so early is imo the club trying to show RvP some ambition.
I think Podolski is a fantastic player and I'm happy we're in for him, a front three of Podolski, van Persie and Chamberlain sounds very nice

Just 2-3 more "experienced" heads and we are heading in the right direction.
This has been our problem for years though, we've always been 2 or 3 players away from a team that can actually challenge Admittedly i'm more exited for next season than I have been for a fair few years but I can't help but feel this will all fall through,Podolski will end up at city or chelski RVP will be sold (boards decision) and we will suffer another year of destructive injuries due to inadequate training/warmups.
