Welcome Back!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

hello gooners :barscarf:

gerrin, the forum is back- i was actually having to do some work for a few weeks there

new forum layout looks quite smart like. "Gooner 2 Gooner" does sound a little bit like a football related gay dating website like but, well, at least it'll keep jayson happy

No swearing is going to be a tricky one like, and we need tit threads, but it all looks canny

Not for me I am afraid!

You failed to control the old Gooner forum and then lost your bottle when it became a success!

You have gone form being a slightly edgey, interesting forum with debate and heat to Arsenal Loose Women in one easy move!

Instead of taking ownership you have jacked off the prIniciple that made the Gooner forum successful!

There are so many forums like this..............and typically they have 56 members and 4 posts a day!

All the best.

I've missed this place but have a few misgivings when I see the banner page locked. I understand that the thread had more than run its course but a key thing for me is; if that thread had never been posted would it be allowed up now? If not, would a banner thread saying "AW knows" be allowed? Is this place going to try to distance itself from any active critique, even if it remains polite?

The insults overstepped the mark on the OG but the sentiments behind the banner didn't.

CC, no one here is saying that in the new forum you have to be pro-wenger. i'm not. i'm sure the majority of mods would be happier with a new manager in the summer, those last three victories haven't changed the scenario: again we were far from any trophies, and the battle for CL spot is becoming harder and harder. there are people here with "wenger out" avatars, there's no problem with that!

we just don't want this to become a place that can cause legal actions against The Gooner (which wouldn't be absurd considering the contents of this forum a few weeks back) and a place that will keep most people away because of its obscenity and aggressiveness. we can discuss the arsenal without calling Arsène Wenger and our players those names we were calling before the forum was shut down. Can't we just say he's being incompetent and then try to make a point using arguments, or are we too dumb and have to resort to simple saying he's this or that? And what about accepting different opinions without resorting to verbal aggression against fellow gooners and forum members?

if percy can't accept those changes it's a shame, but a forum with the content that this had by the start of this year is unsustainable. for legal reasons. and by the looks of it, we're not going back to being the invincibles any time soon, so we have to learn how make the forum work in a civilized way.

nobody has to change their opinions, let's just calm down in the way we express them.

Well done for creating a sterilised pravda-style den for JCL plums. What was a hedonistic place for strong debate is now the equivalent of Health and Safety Britian, afraid of its own shadow.

Great site, and you ****** it up.

(Ivan will be pleased though.)

warning: watch the language, mate. as this is the first time, it won't get you a warning. next time will though (edited by bG)

really frank? can't you make the same points you made before without resorting to petty name calling and abusive behaviour? you can post the same stuff you used to mate, just hold on the cursing and personal abuse, that's the only change!! and those changes are necessary into maintaining the place open, so i'd rather have a forum where i can speak my mind even though i have to be careful with my language than to have no forum at all (which is what will happen if we don't adopt the new rules).

Where's the personal abuse? You're fabricating things in your own mind. Read my post again and apologise.

i wasn't talking about that post frank, i was talking about the way we were all behaving on the forum before the shut down. you did curse on your post and i warned you, but i was basically replying to your claim that we became "a sterilised pravda-style den for JCL plums". that is not true, it's the same forum, the same people, the same ideas. just be a bit more careful with the way you say things, that's all the admins are asking mate. a bit more respectful behaviour, instead of cyber trolling. it that hard???

you can still carry on with your clique jokes and hatred for whoever it is that you don't like at arsenal, just be respectful and please follow the forum rules. that's all we need to keep the place running, which i'm sure everyone would prefer.
