Great to have the forum back and I want to start a fresh with a kind of positive start.
Its been a weird season and at times I have been so fed up with certain players and the continued lack of big name signings that we need.
I now feel that last seasons transfer window has given Wenger a big warning and I think he will act faster at the end of the season.
Arsenal Football Club cant afford to lose Van Persie on so many levels. Cesc to Barcelona did not damage us because of his connection.
In truth Nasri has not taken the world by storm at City and we do have Wilshere to come back and replace him.
Van Persie has been our best player by far since the glory days but we didnt know it because of Injury.
He is simply outstanding and all the money in the world could not replace him.
On to other thoughts. I have been amazed at Kolchelny and how well he has played.
Finally the team look like they are hitting the form that AFC need but this should be a springboard to push us up there challenging for the title which will never be easy with the City and the Chelseas money.
I could be wrong but Wenger will want to show his players that Arsenal still have the pulling power to bring in talent.
Arsenal without Van Persie is unthinkable because the message would be we are finished as a big club. Manchester United could not afford that with Rooney. We simply cant afford that with Van Persie.
Podolsky could be coming but I do expect more.
Final point is the players has shown some passion for the club lately which I think was missing in certain players (Arshavin, etc) so that in itself shows we are very much alive.
A few points

I admire the optimism. You are following the party line well. However.................
NOTHING..............WILL.............CHANGE.
NOTHING..............WILL.............CHANGE.

I am still amazed that anybody believes that the next window will be the one where wenger shows that he has learned from previous mistakes
Havent we been living with that hope for the past 5 or 6 windows now ? Isnt it time ye accepted the fact that in wengerworld we are brilliant, we have great players and are the model club for everyone else to follow and nothing will change under his leadership

Delusion reigns supreme here. Wenger will use this latest run as proof that he is right. When will you all learn?augie wrote:I am still amazed that anybody believes that the next window will be the one where wenger shows that he has learned from previous mistakes![]()

The Germans are coming!
Re: A few points
I'd like nothing more than for Wenger to accept that he needs to change his approach to succeed. However, like many on here, I don't believe it's going to happen which is why I felt the time for change was last summer.
I know plenty of people, whose views on football I respect, do not agree with me and the debate I will often have with them is "what convinces you that he's going to change now, when he didn't change last summer or the summer before that?" I've not heard an answer which has convinced me so far.
Perhaps I'll be proved wrong and I'll be delighted if I am. The last few games have certainly delivered results which have been unexpected and that does provide some hope for the future. However, it's the hope that kills you!

AKB must be loving it at the mo, with 3 good wins - but this team is still a million miles away from challenging for the CL and the PL
the team needs a major overall and we are dependent on a few individuals - all we need is Chesney, RVP and Koscienly injured
and we have Fabianski in goal, Djourou at CB and Chamakah up front

If Van Persie leaves we are finished as a top club. I do think he will stay though and Wenger will finally take out his wallet.
