Re: something changed after AA23 left
Maybe the rest of the squad saw that players were selected on merit, rather than because they cost a lot of money?
Re: something changed after AA23 left
Dont think he was The problem. But he is certaintly part of the problem. He was playing (and indeed supplied the cross for TH12's winner) when we came back to beat Sunderland 2-1 in the league.benglenton wrote:was he the problem? he left Febraury 24th

Was just thinking about this today. What exactly has prompted the apparent good form, character, belief, attitude?
Could it be RVP now bedded in as captain, dragging the rest of the motley crew up to somewhere near his level?
Is it TH12's legacy? Has a true legend and winner influenced the dressing room and left a mark on the team?
Is it co-inciding with Rosicky's better form and him getting the nod above Rambo?
Maybe its because big nut hasn't been playing so much?
Because the BFG isn't playing?
I tend to thik it has more to with a settled first choice defence with a little of the above thrown in.....

AA23 has an incredible ability and he's first-class player
but seems to be lost in his world
when he left someothers, seems, they took lead role in the pitch
and morale is up to the sky

Re: something changed after AA23 left
I dont think it was AA23 going either. Not belittling our current good form but there were underlaying factors in all the results.
The sp*rs game could have gone badly wrong at 2-0 down and us defending like schoolboys if we hadnt equalised by HT i think it could have been a different game.
The liverpool game we were probably the most outplayed we've been all season apart from old trafford and we scaped a win out of nothing.
The milan game was amazing but did feel they came with a cigar on thinking the job was done would they have been so poor had the first leg been 0-0??
and newcastle game again we snatched a win but it could have been different...
As i said its all ifs, coulds and maybes and im really enjoying our current run of form
and dare i say it luck
and im desperate to get higher than sp*rs
but i doubt AA23 had anything to do with it

Re: something changed after AA23 left
This was a topic of discussion at the game last night. I can't see him playing for us again.

I think there is something in this.. It can't help having his attitude around the place.
He is a world class player but I hope he doesn't play for the club again.

Re: something changed after AA23 left
I think it does have a lot to do with Arshavin going but obviously other factors have played a part. In that United game when RVP was questioning Wenger taking off Ox for Arshavin was probably the tipping point. He played a total of 6 minutes after that game (3 minutes against Bolton and 3 minutes against Sunderland). Even the games he has played in this year, our own players have got restless with him misplacing passes etc. I reckon he was a bad mood in the dressing room too, something about him I don't like, seems he doesn't care.
Re: something changed after AA23 left
I've been saying the same since our win at liverpool. I think he had a negative impact on the squad. He was in it for himself and not the squad. Rosicky's form has picked up as has Theo's. I think wenger took a sly dig at aa23 when he said about rosicky's been awarded a contract as he always puts the team first. AA23 clearly didn't. Maybe we had too many chiefs in the team, not enough indians. Rosicky, Arshavin, Ramsey, TV5, Chamakh, (dare I add Park) all captains of their respective country's.benglenton wrote:was he the problem? he left Febraury 24th

If your theory is true then jesus footballers are even more like children then I thought they were. I work with people who I consider to be entirely self-centered and lazy but it doesn't effect my ability to do my job and I doubt it would if I were being paid 60k a week either.Nos89 wrote:I've been saying the same since our win at liverpool. AA23 leaving may have had a positive impact on those players looking to nick his place in the squad but other then that I don't think his leaving had any bearing. I just think the NLD came at the right time, the players realised that if they wanted to keep colney creche from being torn down then they dare not lose that game. Hence they kept going at 2-0 down and were rewarded by bottlers fc being back to their usual self.
Re: something changed after AA23 left
his neverending laziness and lack of commitment couldn't have been well taken by the other players his exit just might have cleared the air a bit

Re: something changed after AA23 left
it might have something to do with it but i'm CONVINCED it has more to do with Ramsey getting hurt, and Rosicky getting the starts. we attack so much better with Tomas than the human handbrake Ramsey. I would actually love to see Ox and Rosicky both start in the midfield until (if) Wilshire comes back.
i swear if Ramsey starts getting the nod over Tomas we will be right back where we started.
