no travellers in cork but the show itself doesnt show the bad side of them which every town that has travellers will tell you is nothing but trouble,

Not surprised there are no travellers in Cork. Most of the Irish travellers are now in England because the Irish government had the good sense to introduce new laws to combat all the nasty behaviour. England is still a soft touch for them.

My daughter's house in Sussex backs on to a nature reserve. Four days ago a couple of caravans suddenly appeared just the other side of her fence. They could have parked at least a hundred yards away, and caused less bother. Apart from the usual problems of dog and human excrement all over the place, there were also at least five dogs running wild and biting passers-by and their dogs. The lads were making a big show of public boxing, to show how hard/frightening they were. One of the ladies couldn't be bothered going in to the bushes when she needed a pee/dump. She just upped her skirt and squatted. In full view of everyone. The noise was terrible. Loud music halfway through the night (even though they had kids of their own in bed). And shouting/screaming/swearing non-stop.

I went round and barricaded the garden as best I could. I've never felt so angry and helpless. You can't reason with these people unless you're wearing a uniform. Best not to say anything at all.

They've gone now, thank goodness. Just the usual tax-payer funded clean up, then you'd never know they were there. Except for the horrible memories.
