The Bolton game with Villa tomorrow is an obvious exception,as it is too soon and too raw for the Bolton players. Apart from that I think other games including Bolton's at the weekend should go ahead (this is made easier by the good news from the hospital).
A few years back I went into work for a night shift. A colleague met me and told me that the man I should be working with that night and who I had worked alongside for eight years had taken his own life. I was devestated and was given 20 minutes to compose myself before going out to face the public. That didn't bother me because that's what I do. There was no sense of "the show going on" or anything like that. I was upset but had to realise that I was getting paid to do my job and it was going to have to be done .
I don't in any way wish to belittle the feelings of the Bolton or Spurs players, supporters or watching public, but the game is professional as are the players.
Now to make myself more unpopular I know the contributors to this forum along with all decent people wish for a positive outcome for Fabrice Muamba, his family and his colleagues. But there ,as in all tragic cases, an element of bandwagonisim. We all wish Fabrice good health and a full recovery. But the need for people to put themselves out there with cliches (thoughts and prayers) on social network sites may in reality outweigh their genuine sympathy.
Sorry if I offend, I genuinely do not intend to.

Agreed - I know that people don't work in medicine / emergency services for the praise but IMO all this "pray for" and "thank god" nonsense detracts from the REAL heroes in this and all their efforts in saving Fabrice's life.
All in all I'm just happy for him and his family that he appears to be pulling through. Thank god!![]()

Been confirmed now that he was medically dead for 78 minutes.LDB wrote:Not strictly true. It took them 2 hours to get his heart beating unassisted but from what I understand his heart had "only" fully stopped for a 7 minue stretch. Still incredible mind1989 wrote:Fantastic news.
The man was medically dead for 2 hours. It's absolutely INCREDIBLE!

Another Henry publicity stunt and one which actually stinks. Great footballer Henry but he aint Jesus.rigsby wrote:Fantastic by Henry, the man becomes more and more a legend every single day.
Get yourself a job on TV and leave the miracles to the trained medical staff.
Re: Fabrice Muamba
Cant say I agree, considering he was his mentor and used the back entrance. The story was probably leaked out by hospital staff.MutleyGooner wrote:Another Henry publicity stunt and one which actually stinks. I know its unusual these days, but some ex players do love the Arsenal.

Re: Fabrice Muamba
Fabrice is a very, very lucky boy. It has the hallmarks of a miracle. He is a religious lad and this will strengthen his faith even more.
The medics would have given up on you or I long before. The fact they didn't give up, plus Fabrice's fitness must have saved him.
I wish him a full and speedy recovery. Hopefully it is a double miracle and there is no lasting damage.

Yeah it's a miracle all right.
Would surely strengthen my faith to have my career terminated at the age of 23.

That he is alive after being "dead" for 78 mins IS a miracle.Chippy wrote:Yeah it's a miracle all right.Would surely strengthen my faith to have my career terminated at the age of 23.
