Just seen Ruud Van Horseyface do it after scoring for Malaga. F*ckin David Luiz was even doing it when coming on as a sub yesterday against spuds. They're all at it. F*uckin d*ckheads.
Rant over
Be cool. There are far better things to be pissed off about. Don't forget - Denilson is coming back in a few weeks.

I was so so happy to read your comment about Denilson that all I could do was run outside and point to the Sky in celebration.

I was trying to ask you a question on Twitter earlier on mate, but it wasn't working for some reason. It was this - how is Denilson getting on out there in Brazil? Wikipedia says he's made 22 appearances and scored none. No surprises there. Can you confirm/elaborate at all?

i don't really follow the brazilian league that much mate, and the league starts around may and ends in december, so since the start of the year we've only had the state championships, and i don't follow the São Paulo State championship (as I live much further south), but from what i've seen and heard, he's not doing very well. he was sent off a lot in the first games, and then had some trouble getting a starting place on the team, and this São Paulo team is not close from the great team it had a few years ago, so you could probably say that you'd expect more from an arsenal player in brazil. he's just being the usual side-passing midfielder with good interceptions and quick feet but not enough quality.

four days ago there was some news running around every major sports websites and channels claiming that he is waiting on arsenal approval to renew with sao paulo for at least another year, but arsenal is supposedly trying to sell, not loan again. he wants to stay in brazil.

EDIT: after a bit of googling, i found out he's close to 50 appearances already for sao paulo (least year's league + this year's são paulo state + brazilian cup), but hasn't found the net 'so far' he claims his dream is becoming sao paulo's captain one day, so he really wants to stay there. good stuff, we'll probably manage to sell him.

football is a funny sport. i remember how highly regarded he was as the next great brazilian central midfielder. he looked composed on the ball, great at intercepting passes, and the captain at every possible youth level of the brazilian national team. he didn't do that bad in 07/08 playing alongside cesc in a 4 man midfield, it has to be said (and he was like 18 at the time).

denilson is one of those guys who start playing at a high level but for some bizarre reason never continued to grow from there. lucas leiva is the same, i saw him bossing the midfield at gremio at the age of 17...

Denilson was my man of the match in the 2007 Carling Cup Final. Intercepted passes, tackled, covered ground and passed well.

Really like to know why by 2010 he had descended to a level where he is not good enough even for our bench.

exactly. i remember he played some good football that season.

we met him, he seems like a decent enough chap who doesn't have much of a life in london other than to train and play, he's a focussed guy. he's surely not like adriano or ronaldinho for example, who blew their careers by enjoying too much parties and orgies and too little training.

some guys are just like that. i remember how quaresma was going to be a huge player but never really got on with it. some players just peak when they're still youngsters and never really progress. it's a shame, but 24yo denilson is no better (probably worse) than 18yo denilson.

he played real football until he was 27, mate. he had at least three or four years to keep on being not a good one, but the best footballer on the planet, his technique and drive were something out of this world. he had a good career, but he could've been there with the greats, he didn't because he was too lazy and not determined enough.

c'mon, if you're a footballer like him, you can play football until you're 33 and then spend the rest of your life whoring around, there's no reason to do that while you're at the top of your career
