Fair enough mate. Me personally, I don't need to see silverware - it's water off a ducks back no trophies as been there before. Have been highly critical of the club and Wenger. I think he has to accept the criticism in the same way as the unconditional support that makes his position even now seem untouchable.

I agree that silverware is not paramount. Consistency is important though. I have watched us for four decades and Wenger has been the most consistent manager, albeit unsuccesful in the silver dept for sometime now.
I just want the supporters to give him the support and his team deserves. Too many people have the same views as Babatunde nowadays

Thought this thread was about young Francis Coquelin!

A very promising defensive midfielder, who if he continues on the upward trajectory he has been on this season, will be a regular starter by the end of next season.

Wenger on the other hand seems to have reached his peak, and has since 2008 failed to push on from a platform of promising youth and a couple of established stars, and allowed too many sub par players to clog up the squad on above par wages.

Failure to bring in three or so genuine quality names this summer and we will have zero chance of the title.

Aha. Someone took their time responding to the 'Coq' bait. Thought that Jayson was gonna be the first. Now there's a surprise

How about "get an effing grip and support our club but not the manager" ? You make a bullshit sweeping statement demanding that fans support both like they are an exclusive pairing but surely a supporter of over 40 years would realise that support of one is not conditional on the other ? I support Arsenal FC and Arsenal FC only - if somebody is an employee of my club, be they a manager or player, then I will only continue to support them if they are serving the club well but once they are no longer doing so then they should not be retained on sentiment alone. Wenger has himself shown ruthlessness in the past when he has got rid of players that were no longer delivering what was required so why shouldn't he be judged by the same standards ? I can guarantee that you and every other akb would not be singing from this hymn sheet if wenger had only joined us 5 years ago and served up performances like this

Typical reflex akb reaction......win a few games and wenger was right all along

what some don't realise is that WE were here before wenger, I've seen Howe, Graham and Rioch, but I don't remember being told that they WERE the club like you get nowadays with Wenger. A manager is a mere employee, he is to be respected as long as he upholds the club's reputation and high standard, otherwise what makes him untouchable?

Augie. Ouch.
I'm no AKB but I have always backed my manager, his team selections and especially my Arsenal Fc. I have criticised them, but always tried to understand his selctions.
Yes, forty years as an Arsenal supporter and things have been a whole lot worse than they are now.
I wanted to make a point that, those who called for the gaffer's head 8 weeks into the season, should now look back to September and where we are now and wind in their necks.
Managers come and go, and quite often we recall them with rose tinted spectacles. I think that in years to come we shall remember Wenger fondly.
Like I say, I'm no AKB,,,,,,,,,,,,I was Arsenal long before these catch phrases. Some respect please? :barscarf:

I'm fully appreciative of what AW has done for our club. But he's lost the plot in recent years.

What other top flight manager would keep faith with players like Eboue, Denilson, Almunia, etc? And reward very average players with improved contracts?

For a man with a degree in economics, he has seriously mismanaged his very large budget.

Our defence has been woeful for years. We now have a defence which is looking disciplined and cohesive. What took so long?

Same thing applies to the recent improvements all over the pitch. Players are putting in a good shift, running off the ball, tackling back, crowding the opposition, playing with real passion. This should be the norm. Should have been the norm years ago.

Gooners have every right to criticise the manager. And don't assume it's just JCLs having a pop. I thought most of those guys were AKBs anyway? :?

Right. I'm off back to the armchair to chew some Tictacs. :D

should you want me to blush with denial or should I just F*** O**?
This short run would have people speaking of us as champions had it taken place in the first two months of the season mate.

But many of us have wanted Wenger out for the past two, three years.

You can support Arsenal FC and want Wenger out at the same time. Also, if you're of that school of thought, you are entitled to voice your opinion - especially if you're one of the 50 odd thousand who pay a fortune every other week to attend.

Damn, I've taken the bait.

To Top Londoner:

Most of the people on here who want Wenger to leave have done so for two or three seasons, other posters have pointed this out.

Simply scroll back through the threads on here to find out.

The increase of anti Wenger fans that came this season, in particular on the net, have taken their lead from this Forum, which is by far the most anti-Wenger Forum on the net. (I exclude The Herd site which is registration only so I have never seen it).

Not that all fans here are anti Wenger, but the Wenger worshipping fans are few and far between on here. But if you want to see their over the top reaction to criticism of Wenger, and the absence of trophies for seven seasons, you can look on the comments section of the articles on the front page of the main site.
