Poll- Arsenals 2nd MVP this season?

Post by armchair »

I know the season isn't over but I wonder who you'd vote for as Arsenals 2nd best player this season.
(I'm gonna take it that we all agree that RVP is first)

Please post why you feel your chosen player is worthy of the trophy for 2nd place.

Kos has been the most consistent and effective mortal in our squad this season, great improvement from last season's insecurities.

Vermaelen - He is a class player and goes about his job with very little fuss. He can score but i dont care about that, he is so assured and i think he has helped Koscielny massively by being relatively un-injured this season and has made Kos twice the player he was last season. Tommy is hard as nails and seems to care about Arsenal too which for me counts towards him being voted for :barscarf:

Szczesny gets my vote - kos would run him close but I do not think you can overstate the importance having a keeper the defence can trust and the confidence it gives them. Unlike some I have been slightly concerned about tv5 up until the last few games and he hasnt looked as assured imo but I am willing to put that down to adjusting to being put back in his proper position after being played at left back for a while

Kos - no doubt.

Solid throughout the season, faultless, has really stood up to the mark and the big question mark over his head prior the start of the season.

I agree with this even though i voted for Vermaelen. Its nice to generally not worry about the keeper with the likes of Almunia, Flappy and even Mannone in the first team for the last 3 or so years you forget what its like to have a good keeper at the club and at last we have Chesney, that can only help the players in front of him

Kos has been excellent.

How are Gervinho, Theo and AOC on that list when Arteta isn't? :?

Both TV and Shezza have made a few balls-ups that nearly or have cost us.
Think Kos has been pretty flawless.( Although he did play in the 8-2, but so did Shezza letting in those two free kicks)

Kos has done good, but who'd you pick after RVP if you were picking the team ? - TV5 for me.

based on the season so far form it would be :

RVP
TV5
Ches
KOS
Rosicky
Sagna
OX
Arteta
Gibbs
Walcott

then its a pick from Ramsay, Song or Gerv - any one of whom could be not missed whether they play or not. and Walcott only just missed being the last kid picked in the playground with this lot, due to the last five games.

LOL, you make me laugh - how can have GIbbs ahead of Song and Walcott, when he has missed most of the season :D
