As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

In all seriousness, I think a lot of Walcott's problem is that every time he has a decent couple of games there are legions of mugs like Red hyping him up and chanting his name. He seems very eager to believe the hype himself which doesnt help, he can cut out all this polishing the boots celebration shit and the "well you know its not all about Robin and me" (No you're right, its all about Robin you fool) for starters.
Just watch, there will be a game soon (possibly today) when a team doubles up on him and gives him no space to get between LB and CH. He will look like a lost puppy and will eventually give up wanting the ball because he knows that unless he's given a free run at goal he is utterly clueless. 100k a week my elbow.

he's not the complete footballer, far from that, but can be very useful if we play to his strenghts. if he manages to improve his technique a bit i don't see why he can't be as deadly as overmars was.
if he doesn't renew his contract i won't be dropping any tears though.
Isnt that the point though......any half intelligent manager would tell his backline to sit deep and not allow him the space in behind knowing that by doing so you are largely rendering him ineffective
walcott is supposedly now a "confidence player".....translated means... he relies on others to play well which makes him look better than the overhyped bog standard level that he's at....has a few alright games here and there in 5/6 years and some people cream themselves...he's totally incapable of taking the game on his own...no confidence is no bloody good to us...flog him with the deadwood wenger and give the #14 to the ox a confident proper footballer in every department

He won't be sold as he is one of Wenger’s precious little boys who are allowed to under-perform whilst being rewarded with new contracts and huge salaries. I read on here recently someone claiming that he was “now world class”. What an utter joke. An average player at best – and more often than not, a poor player. It would make my year if he was sold but he will be here for years to come with Wenger unfortunately.
