WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

excuse the interrupt, but why can't he play 90 mins? are footballers all little lambs now? just because walcott is made out of putty the ox is most definitely not....stop lowering the bar for rubbish like walcott....he's useless mate the ox is an OX he would make wally out to be a "no confidence mug" thats wenger problem .....i hope wenger doesnt balls up the ox career with his weird tactical mindgames
Footballers under age 21 cannot play 90 minutes every week without causing fissures in their bones.
The bones do not fully form until age 21.
The result of overplaying are that these small fissures enlarge to become stress fracture injuries of the sort that Wilshere and Cesc picked up.
And of the sort that meant Fowler and Owen were finished as regular top class players after age 26.

Augie, I would pay Walcott 75K a week for sure (if that is what he going rate is. Whilst we have all read in the papers what players are paid, I have yet to see an actual wage slip to verify the papers are correct!)

I am going against the grain by supporting Walcott's new contract, so be it.
There are many outfield Arsenal players I would sell and replace before Walcott:

Squillachi
Djourou
Eastmond
Diaby
Lansbury
Arshavin
Watt
Chamakh
Park
 stop the presses... health and safety bollocks excuses....contrary to everyone eyeballs, the ox will develop fissures!!....walcott must play....his fissures have gone...they might have gone but he's pants pony shite and the ox walks all over him...i'd rather have arshavin scratching his arse on the right wing and 1 minute of skill than see wally the pony boy running the ball out of play and crossing to no one....get real mate, you'd give him 75k every friggin week...is that his rate???....i rate him 1k and that generous

I really hope Walcott doesn't sign his contract, I really can't stand to look at him. Please fuck off.

Absolute coward as well. Always hiding like a little *word censored* whenever we're under the cosh especially away from home. Always passing the buck, rarely helps Sagna out and worse yet, berates others for giving him passes that he failed to control. When you watch the Ox play it just makes you realize what a waste of time Walnut has been.

I couldn't agree more. Best post on here in a while!

Theo is hugely underrated IMO - like him or not (and for what it's worth I can see why he would piss people off, especially the perennially s--tgripped Franksav) he brings something to our team nobody does, Miyaichi doesn't count yet, and has been effective this season. He's also getting a better and better understanding with RVP 8)

“brings something to the team that no one else does”???? And what would that be? Running hell for leather to the by-line before crashing into the advertising hoardings. A totally average player.

yes I agree - some good points from Quartz

i have made a similar point about Walcott on another thread this morning and I see you have identified some more players to sell.

you cant get rid of Djourou though, he is an excellent back up CB - a pity that Wenger didnt bring him on at half time to replace Vermaelen who was having a nightmare.

Oh Red, look what you've done now. I've spat my coffee all over the desk and we now have a leading candidate for Red's Greatest Quote Mark II

Great work fella :barscarf:

hang on Djourou put in a commanding performance against Villa and kept a clean sheet
a week later he is dropped and the belgian makes TWO mistakes and we let in 2 goals.

I think people forget that Djourou is a CB, but for most of his games this season he has been played at RB, which I agree he is absolutely shockingly bad. but to have him as 4th choice CB is good.

can I remind everyone here that I am not saying Djouroru should be first choice or even first reserve.
he is 4th choice CB, that is his level and I think he remains a good squad member. that is not me trying to be a WUM and I cant see how it can be interpreted as such.

if I was being a WUM I would be saying he should be recalled for the City game - I am not

Red, there is a difference between being a better reserve CB option than Squillaci and being "an excellent back-up CB". As 4th choice centre half you are putting him below Mertesacker....and how that makes anyone 'excellent' I will never know

ok maybe "excellent" is a bit strong.

how about a good solid 4th choice CB?

How about absolutely sodding hopeless, but still as good as Mertesacker and Squillaci

The thing is whether these useless wankers are 4th, 5th or even 6th choice these players play far too many games because of our shitty injury record and hopeless medical team, a total re-think required.

Theo stats so far in the league:

Played: 30
Scored: 7
Assists: 10

Incredible the amount of people who don't rate him.

so he scores 1 in 4 games and has an 1 assist in 3 games  the problem with theo is one good game where he sets up 2 goals is always followed by 3-4 really bad games where he cant beat a man , crossing awful and shooting worse.
