Should we change formation?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That team could walk the league tbh
This doesnt work because there is no creative midfielder. Wilshire is more of an all around CM, not an attacking one the likes of Fabregas. The closest thing we have is Rosicky.

Sagna------Mertesacker-----Kos------Vermaelen
-----------------------M'Vila-------------------------
----------------------Wilshere----------------------
Chamberlain--------Rosicky-------------Podolski
---------------------Van Persie---------------------

This works better imo. Except that Mertesacker is not good enough, and we'd either need a new LB or CB to make up for him. Rosicky is good, but I'd prefer someone a little better as well.
Wilshere is definitely creative. He's a like a left footed Scholes for me. I think we can get away with playing him in an advanced position providing there is proper defensive shield behind him which in M'Vila and Arteta there would be.

Quartzy, Podolski is rapid as well. Probably as quick as the Ox in fact mate.

I stand corrected re Podolski. Always thought of him as average paced player but interview with Lehman suggests he rates him as fast too.

To be fair Ryo looks amazing and manages to shine although he plays in a team battling against relegation. Would be a big shame if he could not get some time in the league!

I would agree with that - from what I have seen from miyachi (although limited viewing I admit) I like the guy and he looks like he works hard, is pacy and cross a ball unlike any of our current "wingers" although if rvp leaves who will be in the box to get on the end of these crosses ? :(

I also have to say that I dont really rate pingpong - to me he appears just as brainless as song but with a lot more physicality and his rep amongst Gooners seems to be built more on his off field rantings than anything he has done on the pitch (although his spat with the citeeh lesbo in carling cup didnt do his rep any harm though  )

If Bolton dont get relegated, i will prefer to have Ryo stay with them at least till Jan next season. He is still very raw and its vital he gets game time playing for the first team rather than Carling cup games.Amongst the youngstars on loan, I will only want Campbell back provided we offload one of Chamakh and Park or preferably both. I will also consider sending Ramsey on loan to a PL team till Jan.

I dont see Song and Walcott in these teams? :?

now either you are assuming they will not renew their contracts or you are are living in some kind of fantasy world.

back in the real world these 2 players have been 2 of the best players this season and as Wenger is not going anywhere fast I think it is safe to say they will still be first choice players next season. This is not about me trying to wind anyone up, I am just stating the facts about what will happen. maybe trying to work out a team built around these players might be a better starting point?

I agree, there is no point in coming out with a team capable of winning the league since we dont see Wenger leaving anytime soon. Best we are realistic and come out with a team capable of finishing 4th.
