As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That s called the Emirates experience..
I ve been told that s what real supporters do..
The problem these days is that none of us have the power of choice anymore. I'll be going to the City game on Sunday following a lunchtime meet up with some old friends and a constant stream of alcohol, and standing in an area with like minded fans would be fantastic.
Having said that, other games I take my two lads along to watch and even sitting in the family enclosure, and you get the overexcited lanky teenager sitting in front of you singing "stand up if you hate Tottnum" every 2 minutes, which isn't a lot of fun when you've paid for your 8 year old to enjoy a game and you spend half of it lifting him up shoulder height every time the ball comes within 40 yards of the goal.
We all know that there should be safe standing areas and seating areas where only limited standing is permitted - would be nice to choose - but we know that the English FA will never allow it to happen

Fickle fool.
Rule the soulless bowl? You have no idea, I am pleased you don't frequent the Arsenal anymore, you seem a tad Asbergers

Agree there should be a mix of seats and safe standing.
But perhaps the FA will be persuaded to change their minds?
There was a man who campaigned for Parliament solely on a mandate to build an Outer Circle Line for London Underground. He did not win, but the issue generated so much publicity that the idea was successfully implemented as part of the London Overground network, and is to be completed soon.
Perhaps if someone did stand as an MP, backed by fans of all 92 clubs plus some non league clubs, and famous ex players, it could force the issue into the manifesto of a major political party?

The man involved went up the road as his son reacted with others to a flash attack by Aberdeen + Spurs Hooligans,he went to get him back to the Pub .
Despite him being manhandled and beaten by the filth for basically mouthing back to flatnose ,he got found guilty and was banned for 3 years .........watch and weep !

I bet the filth will say he, like the two this post is about, attacked them first
I assume there's CCTV in the Grove where the incident happened
I'd like to see it released cause we all know you can't believe a word the OB say

I don't bother doing it like where possible but everyone knows the score- if people behind you keep moaning on you either have to sit, or go to the back of the stand to stand up. If people behind arent moaning then stand up, steward comes and says "sit down lads" so you do and as soon as hes gone you get back up. If you get a real arsehole of a steward you might just have to sit down which is a pain but theres nowt that can be done- if theres a large group of you standing its easier to get away with like. What you dont do is go losing your temper and trying to headbutt a copper, absolutely stupid thing to do and a banning order was always going to follow.
i have been every away game this season and Sunderland are the only ones on both occasions that the stewards tried to get us to do this on, both games i was about 7 - 10 rows back they tried twice and then stopped, every other game, noone has mentioned it, even villa with there warning letters etc,
Would love standing to return, but no chance whatsoever. Sign of the times and Arsenal already have paid up season tickets who sit, and it would be too much aggregation for them with no extra financial reward!

really? Get a hell of a lot more people in a standing section.
Reality is you wouldnt even have to discount the tickets - eejits like me would just pay the same to stand...
Facist State anyone. Lads standing up supporting The Arsenal getting treated like common criminals while real criminals run amuck shooting little children in shops. OB then
Remeber this a free society just TOE THE F*CKING LINE.
English Football Fans are controlled and treated like serfs by the powers they tolerate this nonsense. This rubbish would not happen in Germany, they can still drink beer on their standing terraces

At 3mins 50sec you can see one PC clapping and geeing up his mates for their 5 on 1 victory. Sick.
People standing up in front of you can be annoying. It needs a bit of consideration for those around you.
Maybe they should arrest all the Man U fans if they can't get them to sit down. Mancs treated as a special case on and off the pitch.
Bring back standing areas. There is no reason for not being able to make it safe these days.
The brothers probably deserved their arrests but the punishments are draconian. When there is a link to football the OB and CPS go overboard.
The banning orders are particularly strict and I suspect they are not allowed in the borough when we play at home, or anywhere near away games and possibly have to hand their passports in when England playing abroad.
as UTU has indicated we could learn a lot from German fans about standing up for our rights
as a side note if the brothers really did point blank refuse to do what they were asked by stewards, then try and nut a copper they would deserve banning.
It's just that we all know not to believe a word the police say...
While I'm behind the idea of supporters all standing and backing the side and think there does need to be standing areas, headbutting police is utterly moronic. I'm not surprised they got banned. We don't need those types
