Can you imagine me squaring up to someone, he says where's your firm then? And I delicately place it in my hand

I know what you mean OP. a lot of the younger lads do what you've described, but I think it's a grey area tbh; I'm one of the youngest of our lot, I'd never go in Stone Island or a flat cap cause I think it'd be trying to be someone I'm not (haven't got an issue with flat caps though tbh, a lot of people wear them who aren't trying to look hard)... But many do give it the big'un all game and it's a bit cringeworthy...
Don't see the issue with Charlie in the khazi. I'd never do coke at football, but have no issue with those who do.
Jayson, do you want to see my 'superfirm'? You should be accustomed to them seeing as you live in Tottenham

You are Proper Mugging Off The Proper Nawnty Chaps who couldn't bust a grape in a food fightfrankbutcher wrote:The plums that infest The Emirates is one thing... The infection has reached the away crowd too. So many effing Danny Dyer wannabes at Loftus Road on Saturday. Pissed up beyond recognition shouting out the wrong lyrics to Arsenal classic songs. Was an embarrassment to see. When fronted by anyone they would run a mile in their Stone Island clobber and flat cap. And what is it about the modern Arsenal away supporter and doing charlie in the toilets. Effing grow up. All you get is a load of herberts rushing around with red faces because "it's been called on at the Dog and Duck". Football vIoence is over.
EFFING DEAL WITH IT!

Divs do have pots of cash thats why English clubs are charging £ 50 plus for a ticket day. No wonder proper Fans/Lads are knocking Premier League Football

You must be joking ,the copper was happy he got back into the crowd , loads of people hit the pitch in sheer exuberance and it took them all by surprise but everyone quickly got back in their seats and terraces and continued making massive noise, the rest as they say is History.Which begs the question......Did the copper catch him and if so was he ejected and never saw the greatest moment in our history?!!
Liverpool were very quiet that night and only started to sing after Mickey Thomas hit one straight at Grobalaar and people thought that was that .
Contrast this with us who sang all the match and through half time and generally were going nuts ,I've only seen that sort of positive energy buzz once since then ,Copenhagen V Parma ,you felt invincible and couldn't lose despite the massive odds against us !

Agree matey, was brilliant support that night and so bleedin' hot in there. We never did stop singing from Minute 1 to Minute 93. 'COME ON YOU YELLOWS' was just so powerful that night. Naturally unfogettable and to think that a couple of my mates turned down tickets to go with us cos they couldn't stand the thought of the scousers sealing yet another doubleHerd wrote:You must be joking ,the copper was happy he got back into the crowd , loads of people hit the pitch in sheer exuberance and it took them all by surprise but everyone quickly got back in their seats and terraces and continued making massive noise, the rest as they say is History.Which begs the question......Did the copper catch him and if so was he ejected and never saw the greatest moment in our history?!!

Even during half time, which is usually pretty quiet, we gave the best rendition of "maybe its because I'm a londoner" that I have ever partook in.

Re: Divs at Away Games
The police and CPS certainly believe there is still organised football violence going on. The OB will have "Football Intelligence" officers keeping an eye on fans, especially for away games. They will have a "Risk Register" with names and photos/video of anyone who looks a bit nawty.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kck3qyWpggs Leyton Orient and Brentford idiots swinging handbags at Liverpool Street. Organised in advance according to OB. 30 seconds of putting the public in fear of their safety (Affray). No one injured. Several jailed. Even those stepping in to help others should have run to the police station instead.

Theres sweet FA going on at Arsenal but since the NCIS get millions for doing nothing from the government they have to constantly invent the threat to maintain their funding. The police and CPS certainly believe there is still organised football violence going on. The Emirates is ridiculously over policed on match days !
Re: Divs at Away Games
Almost nothing goes on at matches nowadays. The police still have the officers you mention keeping an eye on fans but this is more to do (along with, as Herd rightly points out, keeping getting the easy life of looking after the matches often on overtime rates) with looking out for known lads who might meet well away from the stadium. Very few people would be stupid enough to start bother in the ground- its very well policed, theres CCTV cameras all over, its very expensive to get in to begin with aside from everything else. Obviously there is still (some) football violence, nothing like there used to be but it still happens. Its just that it happens well away from the stadium so the chances are that anyone "giving it the big 'un" (no king jayson, not that way) inside the ground is probably one of the aforementioned divs. This whole "see you outside" and all that- no chance, if you wanted a fight at the football for some reason you would do it well away from the ground (probably when the match is on)Glitch33 wrote:The police and CPS certainly believe there is still organised football violence going on. Re: Divs at Away Games
those clad lads have always been part of our support as far back as i can remember ( fred perry and sta-press on the Topside anyone ?), shit, when i was 15 i was probably one of them
i've always seen them around at the big days out - OT, Copenhagen, Paris, Cardiff etc where there's plenty of tickets.
most are harmless and will eventually get a few smacks due to the law of averages and will grow up or get arrested - same thing for many
if anything, i think there was more years back than there is now - and the rise of 'ching' at games i think coincided with the ban on smoking, at least it did in the Clockend...
I don't think i've seen any of the proper chaps from the old days at a game since at least 2002, and i only noticed them because of their well known girlfriends.

Ching has been at football since the late eighties,it followed puff after the alchohol ban ely 80;s and the e's late 80;s which for a TIME reduced football violence by 95 percent almost overnight.
But in the early 90's it was hard to find someone who was on it ,now its hard to find people who arent ,however with the massive rise in sniff wholesale prices ,your average 40 quid a gram will buy u nothing more than baking powder.
Gave it up along with Caucasian woman years ago, now its all yabba and lady boys
