City match thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Took this from scums forum and i want to dedicate it to a certain scum supporter on here

So fckin hilarious. Ill put my hands up and say that no matter how much we try and make out we are better than arsenal...we're not.

One of the worst arsenal teams and one of the supposedly best tottenham teams and they are still above us.

As for redknapp....overrated. Media on a redknapp bandwagon. I know I'm a dick but apart from one CL spot, what has he done that martin jol hasn't? Jol got us to 5th twice and he was unfortunate not to get CL with us before spurs came down with poisioning.

we played really well for the most part of the match and despite a few song and chezzer really poor distribution we never took that many risks. Arteta goal was a beauty.Ramsey's extra time effort was such a fluke, thankfully we were already 1 up.

Balotelli is such a :censored: that it's even hard to believe, he should have gone out when he assulted Song.

And it seems like a fan decided to share a beer with szcz. twitpic.com/97f69q

And yet, despite that, he isn't even good enough to make the bench ahead of Chamakh.
Another pathetic, retarded purchase by our pathetic, retarded manager.
FLOP of the season for real Gervinho....oooh but Arsene has no money...
any news, maybe he is injured, surely would of been in the squad if fit

At the training ground on Wed Gervinho didn't train so probably has a knock. Why don't you try and get the fing facts right before slagging off Wenger etc

Our crowd came across as very supportive of the team today, lots of encouragement and there were even lots of people still there at the end of the match

Fully deserved victory (even baby Redknapp said so) although it did look like it was going to be one of those days again, lots of possesion little penetration but plenty of bad luck (TV5 blocking RVP, header v post, Tv5 on his wrong foot slicing the ball) City created very little to worry us apart from a peach of a chance for an overhead kick by Ballotelli :-P .

Sagna was awsome despite 3 dirty challenges by Ballotelli (side note, what is the point in the ref being miked up to the 4th official if he doesn't alert him to that type of dangerous challange)

Santos was more of an inside left than a full back, which was where he could provide a bit of width.
Theo was anonamous really, most of the time receiving the ball when stationary and therefore not effective.

Song got "sacked" far too often by dilling on the ball and trying to beat 2 or 3 people.
Rosicky worked hard and put in a good shift as did Arteta.
TV5 had a much better performance than last week (thank god)
Kompany and Lescott coped very well with RVP, but we made it too easy for them by putting too many up and under balls which were meat and drink, can't think of a time when we got behind them apart from the last minute when Ramsey had all the time in the world to play a simple ball across for RVP to slot home but went for glory himself and fluffed it bad.
We will miss Kos now for 2 matches, v Wolves and Wigan :(

I wonder if Wenger noted that the goal came from a ball winning challenge, a strong drive forward and then a shot. simple, quick and effective, non of this pass, pass, pass, pass, pass nonsense.

Was just watching it in slow mo (I sky +'d it) looks like he could of said black something just after he throws the bottle but its hard to tell.

Was Gibbs injured? and why hasn't wenger realised santos is a winger and not a defender!

For about the last 3 years or so, every time they've come to our place they've looked to park the bus & play for a draw. Previously we struggled to find a way through their pretty well organised defence. Hopefully today showed Wenger that taking shots at goal can actually bring rewards sometimes!
