usual thread starter… I now think that Arsenal will probably have to win at both Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford to win the title. Do you think they will?
Are you more hopeful of winning the Premier League or the European Cup now?

I think we will win at Chelsea but Man Utd I`m not sure.If we have our strongest team available possibly a draw.Whether we can win the Premiership is too close to call.As for the Champions League a lot depends on who we get in the quarter finals, hopefully not an English team,Schalke will do.
Even when we were 5pts clear i wasn"t confident. This season has all the hallmarks of 2003.We had a 8pt lead then but the squad was just not strong enough for the run in.The lack of transfer activity in January has come back to haunt us.The team were brilliant before christmas but anyone could see the back up players were not good enough. The lack of a wide left player has been criminal. To have Diaby a central midfield player playing there is crazy.Having watched a fair bit of Spanish football this season and seeing that Robert Pires is still top class it shows what a bad decision it was to let him go at just 32.

Biggest mistake not replacing experience
We should of replaced our experienced players with top class players we could of moved on from 98 and be unstoppable now.
What age was Ian Wright when we bought him? Now we never buy a player over 23 years.

Further more we lack width
We went from only attacking from the left wing with overmars, henry and pires to no width on left except clichy when he can and nothing on the right ( Eboue running into players).
I would give up the prem for the one trophy that has eluded us and maybe we have a better chance as the pace is slower and gives cesc and co more time.

Have to agree with the whole Toure playing right midfeild(shocking).
For the first time this year our squad has looked too small, we obvoiusly werent expecting theo and diaby to be injured but we had 3 defenders on the bench with van persie...where was the backup for midfeild. i've had the chance (thanks to setanta) to watch a fair bit of our reserves and youth team this year and were not short of talented players in the centre of the park. Barazite is a player who from what i've seen can make the grade and should have been in yesterdays squad...just for backup if nothing else. Its gunna be very hard but im an positive about things and feel we can bring home the double.....heres hoping!!!

I'm still pretty confident. Before Milan I thought we had to win every game as we would at best only draw at OT and SB. Now we most likely have to win at either (or maybe both) but if the team can win at the San Siro then can beat either Chelski or ManUre.
I agree with ed's comments on our finishing, especially Adebayor's misses, but the pitch was absolutely dreadful, appalling. I know it's the same on average for all visiting teams, but it denigrates Premier League football to allow Rugby League to be played on the same 'pitch'.
If teams can miss promotion for not having adequate seats why not also for an inadequate playing surface?

Ok, the pitch was worst we are likely to play on ever!
Yet what I do not understand, was a point that was also made in the article, and one a few people I spoke to yesterday also made.
Why, if it is a bad pitch, and we have two strikers on who are 6ft 5 and 6ft 3, did we not put crosses in the air for them to head?

I am amazed more hasn"t been made about Theo"s injury. Why was he playing in a meaningless friendly when we are down to the bare bones in squad numbers.Madness
As for the team that played at Wigan Why did Gilberto start? If you want to win a game Gilberto is the last man you would pick. He"s too slow he gives the ball away what does he bring to our team.
I would have gone three at the back Gallas,Toure and Senderos.Played Sanga and Clichy as wing backs as this team desperatley lacks width. And it would have meant Cesc could have played in the middle. Why play two 6ft 4in forward if there are no crosses coming into the box.
