Got to be Fulham win. No brainer.augie wrote:Are we hoping for a fulham win tonight (keep the chavs well behind us), a chavs win (knock scum out of top 4) or a draw which will take pts off chavs but wont be enough to knock scum from top 4 ?![]()

Re: EASTER MONDAY GAMES
bad decision yet again. what year is it? why is there no instant replay technology?
Re: EASTER MONDAY GAMES
Because it would spoil the game- part of the appeal of football is the fact that anything can happen- bring in technology to ensure every decision is right and you'd get an even more boring, sterile game than we already have. There is no bias, officials just get it wrong sometimes, its part of the gameYankee_Gooner_Dandee wrote:bad decision yet again. what year is it? why is there no instant replay technology?

FFS Wenger pull your finger out and sign Dempsey this summer instead of another dud from the French league

Re: EASTER MONDAY GAMES
imo wanted chavs to win, anything to get spurs out of the CL places. Just hope that newcastles run goes on and spurs fuck up top 4.
Re: EASTER MONDAY GAMES
Because it wouldn't be fair to have technology in a top Premier League game when its not possible to have the same thing in place for next Sunday's bottom of the 9th division clash between the Dog and Duck and the Red Lion, and we can't have that can we......so we'll just continue not to use basic inventions like a television monitor so that everyone down the pub can talk about the 'beauty' of that latest refereeing mistakeYankee_Gooner_Dandee wrote:bad decision yet again. what year is it? why is there no instant replay technology?
What a load of old cobblers
Get the fucking technology in and do it now

Totally agree with our mackem mate - mistakes happen in football, from players from managers and match officials so why expect perfection from officiating ? I know many people will point to the the amount of money at stake with every bad decision but are we not the same people that bemoan the fact that football is no longer the sport we used to love cos of the money ? So much of the game has changed (lighter footballs, practically outlawing decent tackling, kick off times etc) and none of it for the better so I dont want the game held up for a few minutes so that some wannabe c**t sitting in an office can make the crucial decisions.
On a different issue, sky said in last few mins of the game that if the chavs went onto win 2-1 they would go 4th ahead of scum on alphabetical order cos goal difference would be the same so can anybody tell me what would happen if 2 teams finished level on pts goal diff and goals scored at the end of the season ? Would love it if scum lost out on top 4 on aplhabetical order

Re: EASTER MONDAY GAMES
I know on the Premier League's FAQ sheet they deal with the issue of who would win the league if two teams were exactly level, by stating that there would be a play-off between the two teams to determine the winner. I can only presume it would be the same thing for 4thaugie wrote:safcftm wrote:Because it would spoil the game- part of the appeal of football is the fact that anything can happen- bring in technology to ensure every decision is right and you'd get an even more boring, sterile game than we already have. Re: EASTER MONDAY GAMES
Spot on. Players go through and miss sitters, they score own goals, managers make crap decisions- there are mistakes littered throughout the game and, as long as it isnt bias, I dont mind honest mistakes from officials. No one is perfect and that's part of the appeal of the game. If we stop the game (even briefly) whilst someone makes the right call it would spoil it a bit for me- I like to go mental at the ref and linesman, moan to the lads about the decisions and then go and watch MotD and see they were right all along, or get that feeling of "I told you so" when you see they did fuck it up, I like when the fans genuinely think they're being fucked over and the atmosphere reaches boiling point, its just part of the appeal. It gives some amazing moments (we beat Man city earlier this season with a clearly offside goal- its not right but its mint!). Yes it frustrates us at times when things go against us and yes theres a lot at stake but thats the game and thats just the way it is, its a cliché but they do roughly even out.augie wrote:

Plus there are actually a lot of decisions where they could sit and look at it time and time again and still not have a definitive answer. I've seen penalty decisions where the pundits are disagreeing and I've been talking to a mate and we've had different views on it even after 5 replays. Just keep the game as it is.
By the way, I would imagine if they finish absolutely level on points they'd do a play off, although I'm sure I read somewhere that they'd draw lots (draw lots? That'd be an improvement for Spurs at the minute, snigger)
