Still miss it so much
I apologise if this is yet another Highbury thread that crops up every few months but I've had a few beers and the mention of Fleetwood Town's ground this week has just pressed the bruise again.
I know times change and we have to move on etc etc but not only do I miss Highbury but 6 years on and The Emirates still doesn't really feel like 'home' and I suppose it never will when you've had so many years at the old place. People used to take the piss out of Highbury and call it a Library but it never bothered me because of the history. Admittedly the recent atmospheres have improved at The Emirates but I just don't think I'll ever fully take to it and maybe only the newbies who never had years and years at the old home will ever be totally happy there. Should it matter where we play? It's Arsenal I follow so even if it's Hackney marshes should it matter?!?!
Anyway, just to press that bruise one more time.........

Watching that video and others similar to it make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I didn't get to go to Highbury much but I'll never forget the times I did. I'll always remember my first game, which was a midweek game and walking out and just seeing the glow of that green and the lights shining in my eyes, it was like I had arrived in heaven.

I know you are a bit fruity, but to compare Highbury to one of your clubs is taking it too far!HashKads wrote: it was like I had arrived in heaven.

Great memories, I absolutely fucking love that chant
. Just wish there was some way of replicating or reprising it at the Grove.

That youtube vid brought a tear to my eye. Cheers E-W.
The Grove will never be Highbury but it can become special in its own way. Let's savor the memories and look forward to what the future has in store for us at the new ground.
Up the Arsenal.
