As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

luckily the final is being played in Munich and so Chelsea havent got a chance
just as well as I expect us to finish 4th in the league. There is a nightmare scenario which could happen here - that we finish 4th and Chelsea win the CL throwing us into the Europa League.
I am also now concerned about Saturday - I thought that Chelsea would be worn out for us but I didnt take into consideration that they might win. If you keep winning you wont be tired and Chelsea will come to us on a high and we dont have Arteta... disaster waiting to happen
Not quite the 'golden era' for the club that you were banging on about before then eh ?
4th is optimistic. If we show our usual April / May form we'll end up 6th
Still we all know that real fans have patience, we should piss off and support Chelsea if we don't like it, all renew season tickets and spend £100 on new shirts, sit back and watch our best players be replaced with substandard shite from France.....and be damn bloody grateful for it too.
Get that contract renewal out for Arsene eh Red ? What do you reckon - 4 more years so that we extend the trophyless run to 13 years by the time that next renewal is up
Slightly off topic, but Drogba's acting has been touched on already here. After Fabrice Muamba and then that poor Italian player it is awful to watch Drogba lying motionless on the ground with his teeth bared. It's disrespectful and it's dangerous. There is cheating (Young ,Suarez etc) but that amounts to emotional blackmail of officials. Refs know he is acting but cannot take chances. Someday there may be something seriously wrong with him and it may not be attended to in time. Drogba and his club owe it to decency and to football to stop this immediatly.

all clubs need to stop it- if Chelsea dont do it then Barca will just do it and fuck them over, you almost (annoyingly enough) have to fight fire with fire. I think for diving and the likes, there needs to be retrospective bans of about 3 matches. Not sure how that would help combat the likes of Drogba who could claim to have been genuinely hurt but it would be a start. Until the authorities get strict with regards to cheating it'll go on

Not quite as optimistic as those on here recently who now expect us to finish 3rd
by the way if we beat Chelsea who beat Barcelona does this mean that Wigan Athletic are currently the best football team in the world ?

Over here I am in the minority cos most reckon that last night was a good result for barca and that they will destroy the chavs out there but I am not so sure - the chavs will live for set pieces where their physical height and strength advantage could be a deciding factor
Barca are out. Chelsea will score and they won't get 3. Forget it.
Chelsea have all the momentum, still have top class players rested and fresh for Saturday, and will beat us. Arsene's bottlers are on the verge of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in April once more
No Wilshere, no Arteta, no strikers to rotate with RvP, no chance
Couldn't give a shit really about El Classico - two sets of diving cheats that truly deserve each other, as they bring out the worst in each other. Daniel Alves and the Ladybody no doubt trying to get each other sent off from the first whistle to the last
Why shouldn't they get 3 or even more goals? It was an away game and they could have had 3, 4 or even more goals. All they have to do is to convert some of their chances. They will have even more chances in the Camp Nou. Of course they can miss every chance again but I really doubt it.
I can't for the life of me understand how any gooner could want Chelsea to beat Barca and run the very real risk that they win the Champion's League before we do.
To be honest Hlebby even though the idea of the Chavs winning the CL before us scares the shit out of me, I don't see us winning the CL in the next 10 yrs specially if Wenger is still in charge of majority of those.

Exactly. Its completely out of reach now. Its almost becoming a competition in which I take little interest as we have no chance of winning it.

I agree but that doesnt take away that i dont want chelsea to become the first London club to win the European Cup even if it did stick 2 fingers up at Wengers obsession of the competition. I love Arsenal and our history and the chavs lack of it more than i hate Wenger (and im not saying you dont)

I'm not suggesting that we shouldn't hate the idea of the Chavs winning it, just that we have to hope and pray and expect them to slip up for years and years because we dont have a chance in hell. Kinda sad really.

Yeah it is but until we get a manager capable of winning it i'll keep hoping and praying they dont
