THE FORUM AS IT IS NOW

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I will say again that I have no probs with the warning being issued if I crossed the line plus I have no issue with the mods who I dont believe had anything to do with this. Re the grassing, all I can say is that mike told me in the pm that he had received complaints on my post so that for me is grassing and it is that and that alone that I am pissed over.

Onwars and upwards though eh and all I can hope for is that wenger removes himself from our club in the summer or else a lifetime ban could be heading my way
I stand corrected. :(

I agree with the above totally but you cant call Wenger a *word censored* or write abusive stuff about players on this forum anymore its a plain and simple as that, the swearing ban is relaxed but abuse isnt. Keep the posts opinionated and anti or pro the things youve seen or think about Arsenal, Wenger, the board or the players but leave out the abuse and you cant really go wrong.
Hmm, just as well I read this post, didn't realise that was the case! I knew abuse of other forum members was out like, didn't realise you couldn't abuse board members/ players or managers either. Can I just check is this policed with regards to all clubs players/ managers or mainly just the Arsenal ones? If its mainly just Arsenal players and managers that we can't abuse that'll be an easy one to comply with, I wouldn't come on an Arsenal forum and start abusing the club/ players/ staff and the likes but I do quite enjoy being "candid" about the likes of liverpool, newcastle, spurs and others who deserve it  I take it theres just a sort of "dont go too over the top" policy with regards to other teams and a more blanket ban on abusing Arsenal players etc?

Just to clarify, it wasn't that anyone "grassed" anyone up specifically, it was more that I received a number of emails, a couple of text messages and at least one remark on Twitter which all said much the same thing... "the new rules on the forum didn't last long". No users were mentioned in any of the messages, just threads, so I went through various threads last night and found a few posts which I felt crossed the line. I issued three warnings and deleted or edited a number of posts.

I got criticised last time for not dealing with the offenders, so felt I had to try to nip this in the bud.

All we've asked is that people are respectful and calling our own manager a c**t or one of our own players a "little piece of sh*t" does not count as respectful in my opinion. As we've tried to say, criticism is fine and I have no problem with that and agree with much of what was written. If you don't agree with this principle, then that's your perogative, but it might be best for all concerned if you find somewhere else to post your views.

Just refer to him as the GIC or the Self Harmer in future. Says it all without the need for the 'c' word

Wasn't that M50? or have I drunk too much again?
You must have been drunk :D

I never banned myself, merely decided to opt out of moderating duty and leave the forum, as the level of abuse directed at me from one poster in particular was shocking.

I offered some of my spare time to do moderating to ensure the forum was a happier and more respectful place for posters to log-onto but I was seemingly making enemies and getting abuse so hey, ho, that wasn't what I signed up for.

I'm happy to post on here in future if other's are okay with it. I've always got on great with people on here, with the exception of one poster who seems to dislike me  (each to their own and all that)

You probably don't remember me, I used to spend most of my time lurking on Cork Baz's tit thread down the basement.

Which reminds me........ok I'm off to degrade myself right now. :barscarf:

I enjoy posting here DB always have done ,I didn't know the reasons behind the banning of **** but at the time there was a lot of very personal insults flying around the forum but u chose to ban him and have the gall to say he got off light ,WTF is that all about ??
No I dont think cancer is fun,I watched my grandad get eaten from it ,so what ??? , words are exactly that words, they dont contribute or cause diseases nor cure them.
Similarly I dont blame the Police for anything wrong in the world DB I just am very aware of them and their ways,I call things as I see them. This irks you greatly as does anyone whose posts doesn't agree with you .
This forum takes up 15 mins a day max when I'm not busy or on holiday or weekends when I'm busy getting on with life ,but I do realise it's a lot more than that for you,and it's clear you take things very personally, but please understand it's not your personal fiefdom and the whole point of a Forum is surely to discuss and debate .
For my part I will try to accommodate your sensitivities in the future, I suggest you do likewise to others but feel free to insult me with anything as it doesnt bother me one jot .
Have a Nice Day everyone !
And seeing as your post was directed at me, allow me to retort! I note you still lack the intellect and sense of irony to see the real paradox in slagging someone off for using an internet forum... through the medium of using an internet forum! Have to admit, that still cracks me up.

Even funnier again is the “Yeah, I’m too cool to post here, I only post here when I’m bored or not on my yacht or hanging out with famous people” disclaimer. Those (nearly) 1300 posts indicate quite a bit of time away from the celeb lifestyle, huh?

Your opinions of the Police don’t “irk” me in the slightest. To be honest they read like the opinions of a very ill-informed 1980’s cocktail socialist. But I couldn’t care less what they are; they hardly impact on me, do they?

As for my “personal fiefdom”? Are you serious? Really? Do you honestly think I would allow the amount of abuse and rubbish thrown at me on here over the last couple years as a mod to stay on here if I viewed this forum as my personal fiefdom? Do you really think I wouldn’t just delete anything I didn’t like or disagreed with? I think the problem is you have a bit of an elevated opinion of yourself and your place in Arsenal history and you just don’t like people taking the piss out of that.

Oh, and the reference to our now banned “friend”? The import is that if he had said those things to someone’s face he would have received more than a banning in return. He would have had his lights put out. Can I explain that any simpler? You constantly remind us you are a man of the street so you should know what I’m talking about there, huh? And no, that is not a threat aimed at our erstwhile “friend” but a statement of fact.

OK guys can we call it a day on this stuff now. Its getting as tedious as Jayson wanting to have bum sex with everyone.

Think it might be time to lock the thread, but I'd be accused of being Kim Jong Un!
