Marouane Fellaini
Marouane Fellaini
Don't know if anyone has been watching the Man Utd - Everton game, but Fellaini has, in my opinion, been superb. So, it got me wondering - could he be a viable option for us? A tough mentalist of a midfielder who also has a real creative spark. Plus, given Everton's finances, perhaps he wouldn't cost that much* to bring on board.
Just an idea. What do you think?
*This amount won't exactly be cheap, but it also won't exactly be Ronaldo money.

Eh, Fellaini is a tough one. I watch quite a bit of the Belgian League and when he was at Liege he did show performances like today, but there were games where he was completely anonymous and didn't do a thing except throw around a couple of rash challenges and give stupid freekicks away in dangerous areas. Nothing much has changed at Everton either, he does go missing quite often, especially away from home.
He's not consistent enough, but then again since when has that stopped Arsene?

Re: Marouane Fellaini
He's always reminded me a bit of Diaby. Definitely talented, quality on his day & capable of dominating a game… but injury prone, too erratic form wise & not driven enough to fulfil his potential on a regular enough basis. Haven't watched much of him this season to be fair but the worry I'd have is if someone with Moyes' apparent man-management skills & emphasis on work-ethic cant get him to maximise his talent, then would Wenger's softly softly approach just allow him to coast even more?
Cant say I'd want another player happy to take their career & our club for granted - the need for a change in the attitude of the squad is as great if not more so than the need for technical improvement. Not sure he fits the bill on that front.

Certainly a handfull when attacking ariel balls, good solid tough tackling player.
Has shit hair so would be at home with Song and Gervinho.

No!! This guy is even more over-rated than Song, and that's saying something!! If he did play well today than it's the exception rather than the rule. Not good enough as a DM; not good enough as an attacking midfielder and - like our own BFG - is not as dominant in the air as someone that tall should be.

Usually raises his game for the big occasion when Everton are underdogs but is not the kind of consistent performer and winner that we should be looking at.
Re: Marouane Fellaini
So that's a no then?

Re: Marouane Fellaini
Used to rate him but christ has he gone backwards
I watched him in games recently where he shows no urgency whatsoever and his sidewards passing puts denilson to shame
Add to that he also gives away as many stupid needless free kicks as the cameroon lump we have playing in midfield

The reason people are saying don't sign him Donaldo, is because we want to improve the team, not have it stay the same or get even worse!!donaldo wrote:i'm laughing at the dont sign him hes too inconsistent line

Re: Marouane Fellaini
As with the panic signings last summer the only one who has been a real success was Arteta who had years of prem experience.Thats why i would sign Baines and Dempsey not Fellaini thoughI Hate Hleb wrote:The reason people are saying don't sign him Donaldo, is because we want to improve the team, not have it stay the same or get even worse!!donaldo wrote:i'm laughing at the dont sign him hes too inconsistent line
