It's all the Gooner magazine's fault.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It's all the Gooner magazine's fault.

Read bits on the train on the way home. Talk about over confident and taking things for granted.

Reading stuff from Kev like
the feelgood factor is definitely back at Arsenal
and
Arsenal are favourites to finish third
The Spy
Well, not only are we going to finish in the top 4, we're well on the way to top last season's position by finishing even higher in third place
Plus some very premature stuff about Tottscum.

Charlie Ashmore (tbf a self confessed AKB)
the form team....seemingly cruising into third place... just short of..finding ourway to the runners up spot..
Also lots of crowing about the scum.

When will the Gooner boys realise that this team is too unpredictable to put a self congratulatory edition out with 5 games to go. We're jinxed yet again.

We're all going to look bloody stupid finishing in 5th.

You did the same to us last season too guys! :banghead:  :D

I got mine yesterday by post and read today the bit about "" just finishing short of runners up "and nearly choked (which is quite ironic isn't it  )

Have we, as supporters learned nothing, when it looks like its in the bag, we blow it, - when we look up against it we often pull it off from nowhere.

This team is only consistant in its inconsistancy, can blow away Blackburn and Milan and 5pur2 or Chelsea, but just as easily not turn up for Wigan, Bolton, Swansea.

The arrogance after the Citeh game was umimaginable. We were still miles behind them but Chesney's prediction of coming 2nd was being matched by many a Gooner in the pubs that evening. No matter how much I tried to point out that it was never our form in those games that was the problem but the likes of Wigan and Stoke, everyone just assumed we'd sweep them all aside and end up several points clear in third.

I'm amazed given what's gone before with this Arsenal side that anyone could take anything for granted

Seriously, who sees us getting 3 points at the Britannia next weekend ?

Fickle beyond belief - how do people allow themselves to get swayed by a little run of results. In August and September its Wenger out, in March they are marvelling over a run of seven games.

Incredible. Grown men too, not JCLs

Some of the comments in the Gooner are even worse than Wengers.Even though hes deluded he wouldnt come out and say we had a chance to finish runners up

The Spy flip-flops like David Cameron. He changes his opinion after every result. He just cant make his mind up

The strength of the Fanzine used to be it's realism. Unfortunately nowadays I find myself skipping several articles after reading the headline/opening couple of paragraphs because I know that the writer is trying to portray something that at best is naive thinking and at worst deceptive nonsense.

Maybe so but is there a concerted effort to appear more positive in our outlook ? It's not that I conscribe to the conspiracy theories floated around here in the last couple of months but I find it hard to fathom such a major turnaround in outlook from people like the spy and the mag in general :? It is no secret that there have been tons of complaints against the negativity in the mag and on here so maybe more of an effort is being made to appease the tinters and appear to balance things out ? I have to say that I too have lost respect for the spy :(

the spy was always the first peice i went too but not anymore and mickey cannon can be another painful read when the team have won a couple of games, seems we have forgot the first 3-4 months of the season while we stumble into a cl place, but in its defence we were on a roll when they went to press so to speak, amd you have another moan on the letters page :D should make you letters editor

Maybe that's what they've been told to write, just like we've been told what we can't :rubchin:
