My sister in law run the marathon yesterday and said she ran past this poor girl as the paramedics were giving cpr. What a sad story and im sure this girl had done the right training etc but the marathon isnt something to be messed with IMO. you'll never catch me doing it

I ran the Marathon on Sunday. My brother saw the lady collapse in front of him whilst waiting for me to run through. He said it was like the Muamba scene. It really shook him up. Such a sad incident. Having raised that amount of money (nearly £200k now) her charity should name a call centre after her for example.

RIP Claire. Our thoughts are with your family and friends at this difficult time.

Is there any kind of test conducted on the participants or they are expected to train and judge by themselves whether they are physically capable of finishing a marathon? 11 deaths is a lot.

Fair play mate, seriously thinking of entering next year. Love the atmosphere down there on the day, although I'd miss supporting! When I say supporting I mean drinking!
