As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
so we have 3 games to go against teams which I call "on holiday teams" ,all mid table and nothing much to play for.
our back 4 is now restored and RVP is due a goal, highly unlikely we will lose any remaining matches this season.
If I am proved wrong on Saturday then fair enough, I accept I will be open to criticism at that point.

I do agree with you regarding holiday mode for both Norwich and West Brom, but playing Arsenal is Stoke's cup final, they are always up for it, no matter what the league standings are. They could have lost every game this season and they'd still fire themselves up for the game, they are that much of a small team.
That said, West Brom tend to do well against us at home and as we saw with Tottenham the other week, Norwich are no pushovers.

Stoke are never "on holiday" when it comes to playing us at the Britannia. Last season they were heading for the FA Cup Final and sat in mid-table while we were trying to close out a top 4 finish. We went there at the same stage at this season and got rolled over 3-1 in another pathetic defensive display. They never will be 'on holiday' against us either because the whole club hates us owing to Wenger constantly digging at them. Their fans, manager and players love nothing more than to stick one on us for all of our manager's patronising and derogatory remarks about them
Norwich really looked on their holidays at the Shithole, and look at West Brom - fully in deckchair mode winning 1-0 at Anfield and aiming for their highest ever PL finish
We played many a team supposedly with nothing to play for during all these 'easy run-ins' over the last few seasons but of course as usual people chose to ignore all of Wenger's past sins

Excellent post, Nail on head. There are a few on here like yourself who do post some good stuff, threads and replies. I would'nt dream of ever coming on here and posting anything derogatory about Arsenal (did all my schooling in Croydon, some Palace fans but mainly Gooners, the Brady years,so I've really minded Arsenal) as Its your board and I like the banter! But you guys can say what you like about me,water off a ducks back!
What you have wrote in your reply does have a ring of truth, most Stoke Fans obviously look forward to the top teams at home, but they really look forward to Arsenal. I was at Wigan a few weeks ago,we where awful, really bad,but came back well over Easter. Saturday, rubbish again,so be interesting to see how we respond this week. Hope its a good match whatever happens and some banter before and after the game on here. Will you going up to the match? If you are I hope you have a good day.

I won't be there Stokey, I'm afraid. If I was a Stoke fan, I'd be licking my lips at the prospect of Wenger's lightweights rolling into town too. Other teams have had their run-ins on the field with Stoke but have left it there, whilst our manager seeks to involve himself in everyone else's business, feeling the need to comment on the way they manhandled the Spurs keeper in a game that was nothing to do with him. We had a similarly pathetic spat with Hull (yes, they who can not make the play-offs in the Championship now) a couple of years ago. If he spent the same amount of time and energy into sorting our defence out as he did into blaming 4th officials and coming up with conspracy theories we'd be Treble winners
Sir Rednose might be a lot of things - a very bad loser amongst the list - but I'll be damned if he lets Man Utd get suckered into silly spats with clubs from outside the top three or four (no offence intended). He has run-ins with City, us, Chelsea, Real Madrid, but I haven't heard him going on about Stoke or Hull three years after they've beaten them.
I think all this crap from Wenger about Stoke means they are always up for it whereas our lot drop their heads before a trip up there. It was exactly the same with Bolton under Allardyce and Blackburn under Hughes. You just know what's coming. First away game I'm missing this season and I'm not regretting it.
Just heard the news and see that Newham council are social cleansing and shipping up to Stoke all the scroungers they can't house due to government cuts. Not football related , but funny, speaks volumes of the place !!
Don't even think I want to check the score when this one is on, I am that unconfident. This is the one fixture now (outside the "big" games) that I'm fairly sure we will get turned over in year on year
No shit Sherlock. Bigger than the game in Udinese - surely not.
Anyway, I will be back here on Saturday evening reminding you of your 'comfortable victory' prediction. Remind me other than RvP who is cream crackered, and Arteta and Walcott who are both out......how many PL goals have the rest of the squad contributed this season.
Bet Stoke are shitting themselves at Benayoun and Gervinho passing from side to side in front of them
Who will you support next season if Arsenal don't qualify for the CL ? There must be a relative somewhere in the family who went to Manchester once

i forgot the Udinese game. how could I forget that
no its not bigger than that but it is our most important league match of the season
RVP will have had a nice rest this week, Gervinho and the OX have the strength to hold off the Stoke defenders, Rosicky and Song will excel as usual in midfield, not forgetting your favourite Diaby who might play!
thanks for reminding me about Benayoun - I bet Chelsea wish they had him available for the CL final.
And finally to our back 4 which is slowly becoming the most feared defensive unit in the PL. we even have our super sub, the brazilian striker Santos. Stoke wont know whats hit them!
